Dayz - Save data

Hi

I have bought a new computer and about to install Windows, updating it etc and will soon also install Steam again.

Im just wondering, does Steam/DayZ save you key configuration (I always use my own unik settings) and you characters?.

Like in a cloud or something so I can use my character on my new computer?.

 

I just because I am little high to the North and find some good items and dont wanna lose.

    Character data is saved in the interwebs, keybindings and such I believe are located in your Documents folder, the DayZ and DayZ Other Profiles folders, not sure though.

    Not sure about the key bindings.  Only advice I can give you is avoid people and if they say they are friendly but keep trying to get close to you shoot them (unarmed or not because they can steal a sidearm from you), they are trying to swipe stuff from your pack.  Remember unarmed is ok to be nice to, except  when they try to stay with 15ft, warn them, after that they are KOS.

    The character data is saved ingame, so I only had to reconfigure my key settings. So that was not so bad.
