"*The Elder Scrolls Online is still under NDA. This is a closed beta event and all participants will be required to sign an NDA in order to participate. You may not film, livestream, take screenshots, or otherwise talk about your experiences while participating in this closed beta event."
In other words: SHUSH - We dont want to lose box sales!
That is really lame by Curse and has been scoffed at big time in the past.
Premium means PAID subscribers, meaning pay us to get a Beta, that is not legit on any front and Zeni should know about it and do something about it.Beta keys are NOT meant to be sold for money,it is actually ILLEGAL.Zeni owns 100% of the games rights, any monetary value is owned by ZENI Curse has no right to make money from this.
The main FFXIV site also tried this a couple years ago and was ridiculed big time and later offered an apology.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Sounds reminiscent of TSW's closed beta: sometime during 0.9 and after the first open beta weekend (a collision of marketing and development imperatives which probably hurt rather than helped the game's commercial prospects), Alienware "accidentally" got a few thousand keys which turned out to be for the ongoing closed beta, then still under NDA, and not for the second public beta weekend at all. Talking a similar timeframe before launch too.
Pretty smart on curses end. Probably will get them quite a few people signing up to their premium just to get the keys earlier. Even though they keys are relatively easy to get already, but if it works for curse than that's great for them.

Im not so sure. They aren't asking for money for the Beta keys, but are giving their premium members priority.

If you chose to get a premium membership thats up to you, its not required to win a key.
Premium members will get access to the pool of keys a full two days before everyone else:
Premium Only: February 4th - 5th, 2014 All Curse Members: February 6th - 10th, 2014 Beta Period: From Friday, February 7th at 12:00PM EST until Monday, February 10th at 11:59PM EST
Seem straight forward to me. Those that support Curse get access before anyone one else. You know kinda like what EQ: Landmark did.
And for that matter every other MMO in the past five years that offered beta access (and early access) only to those that pre-purchase.

Yes but this is the internet, people are entitled to stuff.
Before you try Curse, try a beta registration. I've seen several posts from people saying they just signed up today and got an invite.

It was a fake curse website. It wasn't the actual curse website. It was a fake client, that looked legit coming from a non legit source, that came up when you searched for the client on google.

Really? A friend of mine signed up months ago and still hasn't heard anything. That's kind of effed up, or just plain bad luck I guess.

Yep, you were right, he just got it. Looks like most everyone will have a chance to try the game this weekend.
Just got my key - i have free premium (that has been pretty useless until now, lol) as a mod developer on curseforge.
Anyway, don't rage, i doubt curse has 500k premium users (that are interested in TESO) so there will be a ton of keys left once the giveaway opens up to normal users tomorrow.
Is this NA testing or something coz i signed up like 3 times already and even preorder the game but still nothing. I'm from EU and it seems to me we are left behind like we always were in any game.

Doesn't matter.. lol
Read the fine print now.
My email says to spread the word and that "additional Beta Keys available now at curse.com"
"Help us get more concurrent users than Tamriel has ever seen"
Sounds like an open beta to me in all but name.

Thats the standard NDA statement. it obviously isnt referring to spreading the word about the beta test and keys being dished out at curse.
Obviously the sceptical or experienced amoungst us know this is as much a marketing event as a testing one !!!
Is there a big budget MMORPG that lost initial sales because of an open beta ? I cant think of any myself.

Well I gave curse 5 dollar for this.. would 1000% have preferred to give MMORPG.com 5 dollars though : /
after getting my key I thought, maybe this 5 dollars will be worth something else. I honestly couldn't find any other benefit on that site.

See here they even says so.

Isn't the beta over now?
So MMORPG can hire some better moderators (or more correctly people who make up the rules the mods have to police) ?

This is OUTRAGEOUS.
Curse is SELLING THE EFFING GIVEAWAY KEYS FOR 5$'S EACH.
Even though you pay for the premium you are actually paying for the key.
