P.s People having fps issues though it is pc intense turn your shadows off ultra to medium I run at 40-67 fps  and my comp is nothing crazy.

I'm glad you are enjoying yourself.  It's refreshing to hear positive feedback :)

Sorry but your completely wrong in thinking this.

And you have evidence to back my claims to be false?

The minecraft will stay in Landmark, i'm 99.9% certain of it. Ofcourse you will be able to mine, log and harvest in EQN + the normal crafting of items, weapon etc, but the "building in the world, what you want (the minecraft part)" is going to stay in Landmark.

http://neocron-game.com/ - now totally F2P no cash-shops or micro transactions at all.

The biggest problem with EQN/L is that it will be F2P.

I hope they figure out a system to stop servers getting swamped, plots snapped up and then left or possibly even sold.

F2P turns me off this game entirely and its for this reason I will not pay to play an Alpha which is F2P at launch When it launches I fear the commuinty will go to hell as is the case in most F2P mmo's in the early days and the game is ruined.

This game, imo ofc, is best left alone until the launch swarm of mmo hoppers have come and gone, then, maybe, it'll be time to give it a go.

Next gen? Definitely agree with that, but the model is all wrong.

Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy :)

I have to agree with the OP! I have spent over 10k hours in Second Life, Terraria, Minecraft and other building environments like that and this one...I am absolutely blown away! I LOVE this system and the amount of control over voxels is fantastic! I am seriously loving the progression with tools, developing the inventory and workstations...everything is so well planned! I'm super impressed. This will be a MAJOR/PIVOTAL game for MMO progression! So happy to be part of it! #Best100spent

I wish it had a better crafting system. it's the same click a button crafting we've had for years.

I love this game, adore playing it everyday I come home, can't wait till they update it even more.

Nothing more to say really other than I agree that I wish it wasn't F2P as it is the only thing I can see at this point that can and probably will hurt this game. The quality is so damn high, this should definitely be subscription based no doubt about it and I would subscribe, no doubt about it, this game is just that good.

SOE should change that cause people will pay for this. I think they are underestimating what they have done, people would pay a subscription for this, I know cause I would and I haven't subbed to a game in a while as I haven't felt any had worth, this has worth and I feel it daily.....in alpha. I can only imagine what this can become and I think the only way it will get there is if it is subscription based.

Nothing stop you from taking the SOE All-Access, Landmark will be part of it.

Those features aside, i don't really see anything horribly new or exciting apart from destructibility which will regenerate itself after a moment.

Not saying i won't be trying it (since they'll be "free"), but i'm not crazy enough to dish out 60$ for an inferior 'minecraft' alpha 0.0.0.1 with updated graphics to 'make' their game.

Can tell you haven't played it.  Minecraft has nothing on Landmark

Sorry OP but NOTHING there is SOE,Voxels is a separate license ,SOE did not make it they only pay to use it.The graphics are lower end,the textures in the Voxel animations will be miles away from next gen and all to be able to keep the game playable and to run at a cheap cost for SOE.

Voxels is merely a stepping stone because for the past 8 years developers have been super lazy, not that SOE is not here as they did not make Voxels. The cost SOE would have taken to develop something like Voxels and expand it would have been too much,i am suretheir licensing is easily already paid for by the people who handed SOE money.

The reason this  is not next gen and actually ancient is because it does not utilize destructive surfaces that games were using over 10 years ago.You might be able to erase blocks but nothing involving particles or anything that would look realistic.

BTW Red Faction was the game already doing destructive surfaces years ago.

Next gen will be 1080 p graphics,TRUE 3D gaming and better control of physics and player actions via technology, either a glove or headset or what ever.ALso needed in this genre to bring it a more realistic look and feel is again destructive properties AND more animations.Example a player should have several animations to depict injury and bleeding ect ect.You should be able to see you sword or weapon shattered if something causes it to do so or even animated effects on armor.

There is still a Loooooooong way to go just to catch up to present day capabilities and use the title next gen.Simply licensing a Voxels license does not make your game next gen, there is still no physics either and that has long time been easy to add if they wanted to just pay a licensing fee.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Looks like this game is ghost town already after one week of alpha that people were praising for a couple days.

    Too funny, character creation lol.

    But yeah, like OP said.

It is currently in Alpha state, they said about 60% of the stuff is in there and that is just EQ Landmark.  No one has really seen anything about EQ Next except a few tech demos.

Crafting is not implemented in EQ Landmark, that is why it is one-click crafting.  The UI is not in the game, character creation is and the other races are not in the game.  Resources spawn only on the surface, so the entire "underworld" part is not in the game.  PVP is not in the game, neither is guilds or mobs or PVE or the NPC management/quest/storytelling system.

The only thing in Landmark is basic resource harvesting, basic crafting and SOME of the building and even those tools are not all working as intended.  They are missing some of the building materials as well, so it's pretty a pretty basic Alpha game at the moment.

But the core of the landmark game is there.  Go get resources, upgrade your equipment and build whatever you want.  It looks really good so far, with a massive draw distance so you can see that player made structure from a LONG way off, so you do not get that house-spawn-in-front-of-you from SWG or Vanguard.

They have a ton of work to do and have some massive updates over the next month or so but the stuff that is in the game right now is working VERY well.

If EQ Next's core gameplay is as good as EQ Landmark, then you are looking at a serious MMO.

How much money you have to pay again to get into Alpha?

I didn't know Red Faction was an MMO.

You're also clueless in your other "points", but above alone tells us you don't understand how difficult it's to pull of a voxel MMO in the scale SOE has now done.

    60 bucks.

I bought the 100 bucks pack and I have no doubt I'll be getting more than my money's worth.

If you're feeling unsure, wait until closed beta (before end of March) and buy the 20 buck package.

Or wait until Open Beta and play it for free.

I loved EQ1, EQ2, SWG and Vanguard. Had they catered for the semi niche mature P2P crowd they would have excelled. Instead as soon as WOW came out they tried to copy its success and did it badly. Then they chased the F2P crowd and did it badly too.

If they can just get their focus back and stop making such poor and short sighted decisions EQNL and EQN could be fantastic. Although some of the EQN character graphics are just too cartoony for my tastes which spoil the immersion (i.e Kerra with big WOW type shoulder pads).

I blame SOE management. At times they seem clueless.

Had you even been paying attention, SOE didnt actually make any of those games, SOE purchased them after they were already made because they saw the cash potential. SOE has nothing to do with developing EQN/L either, they simply put their name on them because they now own them.

Sony bought Verant after EQ was made, EQ2 and SWG were both fully funded and released by Sony. Vanguard was picked up by Sony after Microsoft dropped it. You're fact checking skill sucks.
