Well, there is not such a thing as an honest review if its based on the personal opinion of a so called Journalist

An honest review only states facts, figures and numbers..

But does not express emotions or personal opinions...

Clearly all these so called internet journalists never went to the jounalists school....

There are two kinds of gaming reviews.

    1: Honest reviews

    2: Payed reviews

And they totally payed RPS for the worst review ever.  Their advertisements were running on RPS the week before......so maybe they did.  OR!!!! maybe RPS wont sell out for advertising money.

Do you like lollipops? Suck it. Don't bite you greedy twit.

Reviews are by nature opinion pieces, no one is reporting a war or outbreak of cholera here.   I can't believe i had to explain that. Jesus CHRIST!

EDIT: Clearly you haven't gone to any school. You know since you called it a "jounalists school" and all.

I have to agree, gaming reviews aren't "hard news", they are more akin to movie reviews therefore will be biased by the reviewer's personal preferences and opinions.

I enjoy playing EVE, therefore any review I do of a theme park style game will be slanted by the fact I'm burnt out on standard theme park MMO's, especially their end game.

Check out Angry Joe's review. I don't usually like him, but his review was well balanced, and fairly in depth. At the same time it left little room for interpretation from the viewer (a problem I see every now and then which I hate). So his is the review I trust the most for ESO.

Angry Joe's review is quite similar to this review, except he doesn't really comment on the dialogue or characters.  As he plays the game it gets worse and worse (more boring) which is pretty much the conclusion of the reviewer in this thread.

Boring, average, clunky are the words that seem to be used most to explain ESO by the press reviewers.

Bad reviews generate lots of hits too. Just sayin. There are no saints in video game journalism.

Do you often feel like a review is only honest if you personally can agree with it? Do you feel like positive reviews of TESO are written by dishonest people?

Btw my money is not hard earned, I get it for very little effort, I guess that's why I often buy collector's editions and never regret buying them :) If I felt like I really had to work for my money I might be a lot more critical towards the things I spend the money on lol.

    Lol here we go again...

Waaah waaah, Eso isn't what I hoped for... waaah, lets bash it.. waaah, quick give it bad press and hurt it, it must be truely evil and anyone that likes it must burn! .....DID I GET IT RIGHT???

Top tip: If you do NOT like something, do NOT play it, do NOT buy it, do NOT even look at it? ...Nah lets flame it and anyone playing! You guys amaze me! WHY post on something you don't like or want to play? Your crying WILL NOT change the game and how it plays/feels.

Your all like a kid that pokes a dog with a stick, laughing cus he's on the other side of the fence... I only hope that when your MMO of choice comes along the gate is open!

    I'm I a Eso FB? I sure hope not!

Do I want to play it? Yes.

Have I ordered it? Yes (No I don't want a refund ty).

So all these bad preview hate threads are no more than harassment of those wanting to enjoy themselves, EVEN, and I want to make this perfectly clear, EVEN if it does suck!

You all have a good day now! :)

No trials. No tricks. No traps. No EU-RP server. NO THANKS!

Tell that to Microsoft(Xbone).  Even though I'm not attempting to really cry about the game or change it the basis for your arguments are terrible.

Sounds to me that this guy should just stick to wow.

How can you do a "review" for an mmo with hundreds of hours of gameplay after playing for a few hours? Clearly this "reviewer" Has 0 credibility and you are wasting time reading meaningless reviews.

You can hardly call it a review when the author has reached lvl 7 out of 50 and chooses to ignore all lore and just click away through it.

And how about things like crafting, pvp and tougher content than the noob area?

Just because you agree with what somebody writes, dosent mean that its a honest review.  I think i will wait for an actual review, thank you very much.

These preview threads are the result of people who enjoy discussing MMOs, learning about MMOs, bashing on MMO's, trying to change people's opinions on MMOs (however futile) or are bored at work and are just killing some time.

Don't take it so personal, they're not pissing in your yard or anything. image

Completed about all I can in the beta for one faction.

Read the rps review. Unfortunately I have to generally agree with it.

Cannot go into details yet, only to say that this got my second longest beta feedback report I've ever written. - the longest was for the original FFXIV.

The reviewer is obviously a console-playing, mmo tourist whos neckbeard has obviously obscured his vision of the game itself. His opinion means dick.

    How that be?

"For its opening hours, those things certainly do not appear."

How about you read the entire review, and though this only reviews the first few hours, the glaring problems in the game are core problems that undoubtedly will personify through the entirety of the games experience.

As I said in another thread it has potential no doubt, but it needs more time to iron out those in your face bored to tears features and non features before this goes to the public. most people are content with it as it is considering all the other very boring MMO's out that had potential as well, ESO could be a great product, they just need to add more flavor and the MMO will be a hit. First impressions are everything and it starts with a great character creation system, and fall into starter zone nightmare. it's not anything else but it needs some more work and the feedback that we can't give due to the NDA

Hate to see this fail TBH I'm burnt on high fantasy, but it could be so much more with some good feedback and about 6 more months of polishing and adding details.

rps = nail on head this time.

personally i don't agree with a word of what he said.

that rps review/preview is 100% spot on..

I am sure some people will enjoy the game but at the end of the day its a very expensive reskin of things we have seen before..

They will not be getting my money.

¨Level 7¨, thats all i have to say about the review. The real game start after level 10 with the Alliance Wars.

lol I love how people say the real game starts at some specific point. If the game doesn't start at level 1 .. I don't want to play it. I should be enjoying myself right at the start. Not at level 10. Not at level 15 or 20. From the very beginning.

If I am not having fun at the start, then the game is flawed, because hooking a person is an important part of keeping players.
