"Failed to initialize web browser" SWTOR launcher error fix?

Hey guys I am kinda bored been playing some ESO Beta and actually subbed to DCUO for a month to check it out again but I also want to check out SWTOR again, as I used to be a die hard SWTOR player. So I re-downloaded the launcher and went to launch it and I get this weird "Failed to initialize web browser" error message. I tried running the FixLauncher and nothing worked as well as restarting my PC and using chkdsk, etc.

 

What do you guys think? I had a similar error in ESO and it had to do with the libcef.dll. Idk what it could be though..

Thanks. Here's what happened: I did as you said. When I tried to open the launcher again, it gave a "failed to update host" message. Fixlauncher was unable to rewrite libsef.dll for some reason at the time. From there I found a thread on that and followed the instructions, rebooting the computer and deleting launcher.settings. I then ran Fixlauncher and it managed to write libsef.dll. The game started to work again. Thanks for the help!

Easiest fix is to install the game from the disc if you have it, the downloaded launcher has been bugged for months.  If you don't have the disc then run the fixlauncher app which is inside the ToR folder where you installed the game and try again.  If that doesn't work there is a dirty quickfix on the official forums you can check out.
