I deleted the game when they gave my max level toon name to someone else when they combined servers.  I paid for a CE to get my name just so they could randomly combine servers and make me change it.  If I paid a sub and kept getting pop ups in game looking for handouts, that would piss me off too.

That game is a disgrace to the Star Wars franchise.

    No bitchers.

That would be a problem, if it happened, which it doesn't.

As for being a disgrace to the Star Wars franchise, lol.  In terms of story, it's better than half of the movies and most of the books, so if it's a disgrace that doesn't say much for the franchise.

There is the big button on the top.

There are some loading screens that mention cartel shop.

Every single time you upgrade a legacy perk you are offered to pay by cartel coins or credits.

Anytime you create a new character and you noticed som races are locked.

Oh and if you want extra hotbars? You have to pay real money for them even as a subscriber.

Are there "popups"? No there isn't. Far as I can tell what I listed are the only things that mention cartel coins.

Subscribers get 6 hotbars with sub. No real money needed. Unless I missed something and I can get more than 6 /grin... now I would like that option LOL.

    Edit:

Some races are always locked. When game launched the only way to play your favorite race it it was not compatibile with class was to level race up to 50 to unlock the race. That's why my first character was Chis Bounty Hunter LOL, I really wanted to have Chiss Marauder and that was the only way I could do it. I had to level Pureblood Sith to 50 to unlock it and get Pureblood Sith Jedi :)

Now you have option to buy them, but you don't have to. The only race you need real money to unlock is Cathar.

    Really.

As though one of the absolute worst newly launched titled mmo's with an abysmal consumer-reviewed score or 5.8 didn't give a bit of a hint as to how awful this single-player, lobby-system, pve-centric, heavily instanced, mis-labeled and falsely advertised, repetitive rpg on meta-critic didn't lend any hints as to why the majority of mmo enthusiasts either failed to pick-up the game or left after the first month of their rediculous subscription model wasn't warning enough.

Just because its 'free' doesn't mean it's still 'good'.

Ok scratch that one off the list then. Still they really shouldn't sell the hotbars even if subs get the max for free lol.

The majority left because of the end game glitches you know how many times I wiped on NiM bosses because the game had issues.... It was more the glitches plus no announcement of new content that pushed people away not the gameplay itself most that I played it loved the trip to max level more than any other MMO sorry if it wasn't the gab for you.

And if you call TOR a lobby game you a clearly full of it and have never played it.

I think the buckets of money they rake in speak more to how happy people are with the game than Metacritic user scores.  Most "mmo enthusiasts" also don't find subscriptions to be "rediculous," even if they do stop paying them after they run out of content.

the game is pay to win, but which isnt these days?

and stop that you dont need this item or that item, cus basically we dont need any item (looted or real money or credits)

since some1 has an item or a finished collection with real money and others dont cuz they dont have rela money to spend, is pay to win...

fan of SWG, XCOM, Defiance, Global Agenda, Need For Speed, all Star Wars single player games. And waiting the darn STAR CITIZEN

*blink* what item exactly can you buy with cartel coins that let you "win"? can i buy better pvp gear? can i get uber damage/healing/tanking mods? do i get more skills then an F2P player? do my skills improve more?

can you even buy anything that's not cosmetic off the CS ?

"pay to win" = i pay real money and therefore my character has gear / abilities that are better then a non paying costumer. about the only unlock i can think of that fits the bill in the whole cash shop is the artifact authorization, and that one can very reasonably be bought off the GTN or even from the cash shop by anyone who put an effort into unlocking some of the achievements without spending a dime.

everything else simply means a subscriber need to spend less time then a free to play player on it (which stands to reason, if there was no benefit to subscribing, no one would do it...)

I'd love to see those pay to win items that have been discussed in this thread seeing as how I've never seen them in the entire time I've played this game.

    Currently Playing: World of Warcraft

SWTOR is not pay to win lol, its a lot of things I ll give you that but not p2w.

I come to this site for MMO news but each time I open a forum topic I m stunned by the amount of trash that people talk just for the sake of it.  About SWTOR, ESO, Wildstar, WoW etc... Everbody's a damn video game guru! They can even tell you how much they will sell! Amazing!

As for SWTOR itself I've gave them enough money already, was fun although much was promised and very little was delivered. I learned not to trust MMO dev's, I ll believe stuff when I see it.

Although, after trying out Wildstar I can say that this kind of MMO's future is bright, very bright. True that its not Star Wars but at least it's sci-fi and better yet, great quality game overall.

it's defenitely not pay to win.. but it is however pay to enjoy due to the extreme limitations on the free to play bit.

the free to play version is more of a demo of the game than the regular free to play style we've seen in other games.

it's pretty smart though the story is pretty sweet so if you get hooked you're likely to get a sub to enjoy the full game.

I had fun once, it was terrible.
