I think TESO will do better, but that isn't saying much. I voted for the same, because in the end, they are both generic titles with nothing new being brought to the table. Same old, same old.

Pretty sure it will suck, its made by the same nerds that made GW2.. that has a heap of balance problems as far as I am concerned.
ESO seems to own its title and live up to the name, I am sure the RVR will be great and from everything I have seem it is looking good.
Wildstar will have OP clases and FOTM rerollers, ESO will have viable builds for all classes due to the nature of the amount of different builds you can create by just adding skill points.
I could be 100% wrong here, but Wildstar reminds me too much of wow, at that means FOTM classes, cookie cutter builds and gear>skill.

There will be cookie cutter builds in ESO as well, Its unavoidable. As for gear>skill, no can make that call as no one has really experienced ESO's mid game or even its end game.
As for whether or not Wildstar will hold up to other rpgs hard to say. Its "cartoony" aesthetics have a proven history of holding up over time vs. a more "realistic" approach, but as for whether its content can hold up as well has yet to be seen.
I have a feeling it will do quite well. Currently a lot of the complaints are the 'man children' of sorts against the graphics with the silly belief that a cartoon style suddenly will make them look uncool. Yes, I said it and I know you know its true. Just accept that stuff can look stylized in a certain way and still be fine or even thought provoking more then the random violence in the 50 shades of black and grey (stupid book making me edit my phrase!) art style that has lead to many dull ideas and uninspired worlds.
Mostly it will be how people adapt to its combat style and just how much content (and the difficulty of it to keep people pushing to complete it) they are able to put into the game.
If Wildstar puts out a Collector's Edition without borderline cash-shop perks and offers no pre-order bonuses that belong in the main game I'll be buying it out of principle.
Don't get me wrong, not going to purchase purely out of reactiveness, I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far. It looks like a solid themepark and I'm feeling ready for another ride. But usually I wouldn't be pre-ordering Collector's Editions.
But considering the TESO fiasco I feel the need to put my money where my mouth is and reward companies that treat their customers with some basic respect and dignity. So if they put out an edition for a few bucks more that shows they aren't trying to milk their customers I'll happily take them up on that offer.

I highly disagree with you...
Why do you disagree?
ESO has one thing WildStar doesn't...a very well known IP. Elder Scrolls.
ESO can be very bad and I think initial sells will still be more than WildStar.
I like the idea of WildStar, I'll be buying it if it ever releases.
I also think that it is to heavily influenced by WoW to be any more successful than say SWTOR was...same will go for ESO (though I feel WildStar is going to be a bit more WoW clone than ESO given the devs working on WS).
I have tried to like Wildstar, getting to the point of keep putting more and more hours in hoping something will catch my eye, but it feels quite generic, nothing new to get excited about (quest grinder at heart)
+1 ESO as its paced slightly better to take in the world around, and 1st person is quite refreshing. (pvp is amazing, and tri faction!!)
Core i5 13600KF, BeQuiet Pure Loop FX 360, 32gb DDR5-6000 XPG, WD SN850 NVMe ,PNY 3090 XLR8, Asus Prime Z790-A, Lian-Li O11 PCMR case (limited ed 1045/2000), 32" LG Ultragear 4k Monitor, Logitech G560 LightSync Sound, Razer Deathadder V2 and Razer Blackwidow V3 Keyboard
Purely from a IT Technical stand point Wildstar will do better. Its a game that will play well on someone's work machine.
Therefore logically Wildstar will do better regardless of IP. Plus I am sure that there are many ESO players who do not want to pay a sub and are happy with standalone games.
A sci-fi mmo not based on an existing IP and not set in a spaceship is a very appealing thing. ESO might sell better initially but does it have the staying power, in a medieval fantasy filled market.

Much better off going Star Citizen imo.
Again, I AM getting WildStar if everything keeps going how it is, but I'm also trying to be honest.
I know my spouse will play ESO over Wildstar...I love sci fi but she hates it.
Like almost all other MMOs, ESO and WildStart will probably both be F2P in a year. ESO may hold out longer because of their publisher having a bit better financial situation. Who knows? IMO, both will be F2P....which I do hate in most games. Oh well.

ESO was designed for console (sadly), therefor will most certainly perform better imo.
Have you seen the low settings for ESO? You could play that on a toaster.
TBD for how WildStar plays on low end machines. Stylized (spelling?) graphics do not automatically mean it will be stable.

Star Citizen is nothing at this point but screenshots tech demos and promises. Wild Star is an actual product due to be released soon.
I am looking forward to Star Citizen but for those who dont have a beast gaming rig and the desire to play a scifi mmorpg Wild Star will fit the bill quite well.

The Hanger Module actually has hidden assets in it as well. I can assure you that the ships they are developing are not just concept art. Quite a few of them are already in players' hangers. The game sure will not be for everyone, though. It is also not going to be for people that have old PCs....which is one thing that is appealing to me...no dumbing down of graphics to appease the masses...no dumbing down the game to appease the 'instant satisfaction' crowd.
Only time will tell how well SC will do. It most certainly will never have millions of players.(I think the last Wingman's Hanger, the dev seemed to think that having 500k isn't likely).
But back to WildStar.
MMOs are a bit of a niche market. Sci Fi is a niche market. The game, which again I will be getting, I just can't see sustaining a sub model for very long. Time will tell on that also. It's just my opinion.
It will fair well in the long run better than games like ESO and EQN as Wildstar unlike those games is being made for the long term with an actual endgame and tested endgame. But in terms of box sales I do not think WS will do as well. TESO and EQN are box sale games where they are designed to take as much money upfront from players before they quit the game. Teso and EQN are short term games like GW2,AoC and Tor which were not made or designed for the long run.WS is just the opposite with a large part of their development dedicated to long term endgame gameplay.
They are completely different games and genres. ESO is a MMOBS (box sale) game while WS is a traditional long term MMO game.
I could be 100% wrong here, but Wildstar reminds me too much of wow, at that means FOTM classes, cookie cutter builds and gear>skill.
I thought ESO was like WoW. They're both generic fantasy worlds. At least WoW doesn't go with having as many dull shades of brown as a NYC subway toilet like ESO.

It's not a WoW clone. For one thing it's sci-fi and not fantasy. ESO is the wow clown. It has the elves, dwarves, orcs, etc and brings nothing new or even uncommon to the table. It's just another generic fantasy where you can go 1000 years in the past or future and the only thing that will change is that the castles will turn into ruins. You'd think in a century they'd develop better anti-dragon technology. Or develop any technology for that matter.

Your defending a game by trashing another game...that's still in beta?
WildStar IS A WOW CLONE. I'm still buying it, but come on...one of the biggest things touted about this game is the devs and their influence from Vanilla WoW.
Both ESO AND WildStar will inevitably go FTP imo.
WildStar is going to be interesting, but it's basically everything WoW...just in a sci-fi setting and slightly different combat. It has its merits (and flaws), but it's not the end all be all MMO...
All I can say is, generally I find it very difficult to sink my teeth into a new game. I can only say so much about Wildstar, but for me sinking my teeth into Wildstar is not going to be a problem. I already know that. So when you speak of how it will do with "rival" or lets say up against it's "peers", I believe it is going to do very well.
WoW is the benchmark for comparing all mmo's it seems, and what WoW does is take everyone else ideas and just does them better. I think with that said your going to see Wildstar taking the same approach.
Being a Jack of all trades is a good thing - I think some have figured that out, some players don't like the Jack of All trades, but development does and for every person you lose because your the jack of all trades, your probably going to gain 10 that do like the jack of all trades.
People generally do not like big changes, it takes baby steps to reach great walks of life. I think Wildstar understands that, and it's going to be an interesting experiment to see if the player base is able to take that baby step just enough to become comfortable and then another and another .... Until the place they were at to begin with feels foreign and suddenly uncomfortable as well.

Actually my bad. Its tied for doing worse.
I think ESO will sell more boxes than Wildstar. I don't think it's even going to be close. Given that ESO is releasing on multiple platforms.
Hard to say long term what kind of player base each will manage to hold on to.
