Does anyone know exactly what this entails? I mean, I know you go to the other factions' zones, but... are you in a PvP state while you do this or are you just another player? Are you going through the same story missions and everything as if you just arrived at the starter island, or does it start you somewhere else?

That does sound interesting first time I've heard the high level content explained.
I already read this review. While I appreciate the effort, it's the very reason I ask these questions. He simply doesn't answer the questions I asked - which is why I asked them.
Thank you, though.
Hmmm... I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I mean, on the one hand... this could be the part where the game feels more like a proper TES than anything before it. On the other hand... it is an MMO, and that could get lonely.
I guess I'll have to do some serious thinking about where I want to start the game - which faction. If these areas really offer a more classical TES element in the way they are phased and structured... I'd sort of like to make sure I save the more interesting zones for last.
It will be phased, thus an instance of those zones. You will not see the players of that faction and thus no reason to be PvP flagged.
The only place you will be able to PvP is in Cyrodiil, unless they add more zones to the game latter. but you will not be fighting faction players in their faction lands. They did not make this a world at war, even though it is, its a world at war only in Cyrodiil.

Kinda sucks if you can't even see people from ohter factions. I hope they make it so that you can group with other factions for PvE content. One of the very first quests you do in the game gives you a whole storyline aboud having you group with NPCs from another faction, so it makes no sense that you wouldn't be able to group with players after taht. (Fighter guild storyline tells you that they take people form all factions and that you all cooperate regardless of the war).

I do recall their stating that you will be able to group with other faction players if you unlock that faction zone, but its limited to that zone. But that was almost a year ago and haven't read about it since.

I see an option of all factions in the same instance a possibility. Once you reach level 50 and complete your story.
It was hinted at in the Q&A from Tamriel Foundry that you will be given some kind of vision quest. You can experience another faction through another perspective. So all factions that take the quest at 50 to start the 50+ faction could end up in the same instance. Because everyone going to the faction play will be a part of that faction for just that part of the game IMO. So as long as you are level 50, completed your story and have taken the 50+ quest. You could all be playing together if your are playing the same faction for 50+. Then again for the 50++ faction.
I am not sure that makes sense the way I explained it.
How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?

Reminds me of the elite zones for AoC which were the same as the normal zones only with elite mobs. Was fun to go in with a group.
