Not sure if this has been posted here or not, but here is some great footage that really shows off the gameplay, sights and sounds of RvR.  Great stuff!

Looks like Warhammer Online, and with about the same GFX.

The big question is, does the RvR matter or is it just flipping keeps back and forth for some realm points?

I love the siege system, and the class skills make chasing down straglers a real pleasure :)

It looks fun. I think it's cool that she could cast spells and wield a 2H weap.

    How does stealth work?

Looks like its a mage with a 2h weapon, uses the lightning bolt from the sky(mage only).

You sneak like in other ES games, but instead of being light based its ranged and LOS based.

If you approach from behind their range of detection is greatly reduced. There are some spells that increase the range of detection as well.

If the eye is closed you are hidden. If the eye is open someone sees you.

Here's a good solo pvp video.  Nightblade Bosmer with a bow and two-hander.

    http://youtu.be/W-97mrfaqdw

/edit: It doesn't have the cool in game sound effects of the OP video but its nicely edited and shows how a single player can be effective.

Out of the 3 factions, DC will be steam rolled constantly. That faction is good for PvE and RP though. I see AD and EP running the show.

    I hate you all!

OP you are in the First place after Posting these Vids man......

After i could participate in RvR at the Weekends as well and it ran just so fine on my PC and now, after seen the Vids you linked, i pressed the Button to Order myself a new GFX Card. I so hate you that i had to do that, going from a 560 TI to a nice 760 now.

But as an old DaoC Fart you can imagine how i suffer and i HAVE TO HAVE that RvR in Full Quality, that's for sure.

    So.....much....hate

Is there friendly fire from the siege engines?
  • HighMarshalHighMarshal Member UncommonPosts: 415

It took me a bit, but I figured out what skills that were on the bar in the video.

Mage's Fury (appears to be unmorphed)

    Reverse Slash (probably Executioner morph)

    Crystal Shard (Crystal Fragments morph?)

Critical Charge (Stampede for the immobilize?)

Lightning Form (Boundless Storm for the move increase?)

Storm Atronach (Charged Atronach for the AoE?)

The second video appears to be

    Poison Arrow  (poison Injection?)

    Scatter Shot (Draining Shot?)

Arrow Spray (Could be either morph)

    Snipe (Could be either morph)

    Shadowy Disguise

    Veil of Blades

    Second bar

    Cleave (Brawler?)

    Soul Trap (Consuming Trap?)

    Uppercut (Could be either morph)

    Swallow Soul

    Prolonged Suffering

    Veil of Blades

Looks like Uppercut was switched for Teleport Strike later on.

This is highly unlikely. There are multiple pvp servers and the populations on those can shift and move around.

from what i understaand some major PvP groups are already getting organized and most of them are consoladateing in DC, so if this is true i think the oppisite will happen of what you say.

F2P may be the way of the future, but ya know they dont make them like they used toimage
Proper Grammer & spelling are extra, corrections will be LOL at.

Keep flipping is worth very little points to prevent abuse.

It is ranked RvR.  If an Alliance manages to capture all six keeps, the highest ranked member of its faction is crowned Emperor of Tamriel and gets all the privileges therein.  Alliance points are used for bunches of stuff.  There's also dungeons, quests, and other content in Cyrodil, like any other zone, that is done in the open world space (and thus is vulnerable to other alliances interfering.)  Also, only guilds who control keeps in Cyrodil are able to set up a guild store at said keep  (which take the place of public auction houses in the game.)

As for the GFX -- no, it is much better than Warhammer on max settings.  The textures up close might be the same size mind you, but that's a performance thing, and War had none of the post processing/was laggier/had obnoxious particles.  The actual art style, backdrops, and the love that was clearly put into every piece of the worldspace definitely outstrips WAR.

Same GFX ? did we watch the same video. because ESO is nothing like war in GFX.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the combat and the limited abilities you can actively use, though.

Play it and make your own decision - don't just go off of what you heard.  There will be another beta and it's easy to get keys now.

That video is a complete turn off for me im afraid, thankfully there is more to pvp than zerging mindlessly but this game makes the zerg = win philosophy ring truer than ever before.

    Zerg = win

    Stealth = win

    CC = win

    Thats what this video shows.

regarding zerging - the devs counter this a bit by including choke points throughout the maps which are easily defendable - so zerging alone wont bring you victory unless the difference in men power is really huge

I don't get the crybabies who whine about zergs in every post they make.  It's IMPOSSIBLE to design a game with large scale warfare without zergs.  Just get that through your collective heads.  Process.  Accept.  If you want nice, clean, sanitized combat, go play a heavily instanced (small capture the flag type battleground)  PvP game like WoW or just stick with single player type games.  Those have been done to death.

I liked this video because it didn't have a reviewer talking over it and there wasn't any teamspeak going on.  It was just a simple video that took in the sights & sounds of the RvR.

Most people who try something for the first time aren't going to be the most organized about it.  They're just going to jump into the fray and try it out.  As the game matures, I can easily see a lot of great Guilds out there who are well organized and know how to use proper tactics.  The people who cry "ZERGS SUCK ZERGS SUCK!!!!" are obviously just a bunch of crybabies who have never been a part of a good organized guild with a good leader.
