To be honest 150 hours is actually pretty common by MMO standards, last time I leveled a character in a game (Swtor) it took about 6 days 7 hours and 23 minutes of play time to hit 50. In WoW I hit cap much quicker coming out at about 3 days and change, leveling in that game is so quick you out level almost every zone especially in heirloom gear. So all in all the amount of leveling content is looking to be pretty much on par for a typical MMO these days.

    How about this:

131hrs to reach the end of Deus Ex for the first time.

And it had 2 more endings more to play through.

    2000

    offline

    game

    and

    without

    a

    single

    mod.

I can do almost everything WoW has to offer in less time than that.  What's your point?

    That you would. -_-

Deus Ex was a different game (and my all time favorite) that allowed multiple ways and means to finish a zone...including not to kill at all; avoid the danger like a rogue; or go charging in like a warrior. There was no right or wrong method, it was player choice, just like choosing the ending scenario.

Zergs don't teach a player to use the brain, it teaches them how to follow the quickest route, though.

Its always faster to level in a game when you have done it before and are in e.g. heirloom gear; if it is your first run through without a copper piece to your avatars name it will take longer!

People who opt to level second and subsequent characters in ESO will doubtless be faster.

Now its another thing if its a Raid Boss and it takes a server 6 months to down the boss and your guild does it because you are very good player with a lot of skill.

Also its 100% impossible for developers to keep enough new content for those types of players. Maybe the treadmill type of content but not actual new content because when they patch it in, they will blow through it in a day.

It's the latter type of people who always complain "Bored, there's nothing to do" as well.  That is an MMO aspect that I'm hoping people realize is not a TES quality.  That is one part at least I feel Zenimax is getting right...promoting exploration, putting in little things like unique crafting stations, random "off the beaten path" quests, and so forth.  As I've mentioned before, ESO is less of a "fast food" MMO and more of a fine wine or steak and lobster dinner meant to be savored and not rushed through...

Can't have that in MMOs, because the population in MMOs won't sit down to eat a proper meal. MMO's are every bit like this video...

Lowest common denominator sells. Fancy dinners also don't become fancy for long because...it becomes common.

At most in a MMO is try to strike a happy medium of features and fun, because anything else is niched game play.

Lol funny video, but I don't think this video represents most folks who will subscribe to this game :-). What you showed is the Wildstar audience p. :-)

And why is that?  ESO is a very much a themepark , i don't know what makes you think you and your game is so special.

lol that was a mature response. Me and my game? I didn't know I owned Zenimax so thanks for the promotion. I think the poster you were responding to partly answered why I think this game is special as it relates to exploration compared to other themeparks. In addition, the freedom to slowly develop your character as it relates to skill development both while leveling and at end level, the deep crafting, and the plethora of ways to level  excites me about the game. I think the PVP area will be special. Plus I love the artistry and setting. How effective all of that is, well, I guess we shall see. I've seen enough to know that its unlikely I'll be dropping out within the first 3 months regardless of how long it takes me to get to end level.

    There Is Always Hope!
