i'm excited to try this one out.. i dont mind it being cartoony and comical.. those tend to be the best games in my experience. realism and seriousness tend to get quite dull fast.
The worst part about this game is that it will be supported by NCSoft and their worthless support staff that never give you the answers just canned responses.
NCsoft?? have these dudes ever pulled off any decent MMO in history? Lineage2 was fun back in 2003, but it was half finished korean grind(with open world PVP , with all the harsh death penelties we used to have... You had to play all day and not work to get shit done...
MMOS died back in 2004 RIP... sadly... when the mainstreamers got into gaming, and demanded to have a life outside of gaming...
I dont want raids
I dont want PvP battlegrounds ..
I dont like themeparks...
And I'm tired of playing EVE for the last decade, because there just isent anything elese to play...
FUCK boring... Another shit game hits the market...
Originally posted by Rhoklaw So basically, having somewhat similar aesthetics makes it a clone of WoW? It's sci fi vs. high fantasy, completely different races and classes, paths, random and ever evolving adventures and a heck of a lot more humor. Let me guess, EQNext is a WoW clone too, right?
I have a new tearm for you "Mainstream Clone" that is what this is. Its made for people who got into MMOs after 2004.. And that makes it shit...
I like games were I shoot you and you delevel, and drop all your gear like a Mexican Pinata, then i grief you some more laughing in chat as i pick up your gear... That is fun gameplay...
Anyone comparing the graphics to WoW, roll a trial account and go look at the original areas in that game. Go ahead, take a good close look, I'll wait. Of course youv'e played Wildstar and not just looked at the screenshots, right? Of course you have. Otherwise you wouldn't be saying this with such authority. Nobody would be stupid enough to make declarations based on screenshots posted on web pages.
You are crazy if you think this is "just like WoW'. Yes, it has bold, bright colors and a lower poly count than grimdark games like GW2 and ESO. That's what I love about it, and I loved that about WoW too. But the resolution is miles above WoW, and so is the detail. I defy you to run both games side by side, then say it's identical. I say that because I DID this comparison last weekend. And I played WoW today and took a look at various Vanilla object's appearances...objects with ultra-low polygons and textures just wrapped around them in an obvious and blurry way, like the chains wrapping around a Kodo mount. At the time, WoW was great and they did a really good job creating an enjoyable style that would run on any system. But Wildstar is so much more detailed and rich, that seriously, you must be joking comparing the two. It has two things in common: bold, bright colors and a whimsical style. That does not in way make it identical. Quit with your unassailable internet warrior pronouncements, and back it up with some real world checking.

Have you been in game looking at anything beyond 50 meters or where no grass is rendered anymore? It's not even looking "like WoW", it's worse.
How in 2014 a company is able to release a game thats partially looking worse than WoW did in 2004 is worth an award on it's own. I'm not saying that the graphics in Wildstar are bad in general, but there are several things about them that are just beyond cheap development.

Who is SWIM and why should we care?
