My computer at home lately has had some major issues with staying connected to the internet at all while I play any game. I turn on my computer and let it boot. Start up a game and go into multiplayer. Usually less than a mminute into playing I will stop sending and receiving packets and loose my connection to the game. I will quit the game and now my internet connection is completely craped out, even though the green light is still blinking and acting normal, I must restart in order for it to start working normaly. Trying to repair the connection or using the dos command ipconfig /renew will not work, it fails to draw the IP. But, restart and everything is fine. I can surf the internet just fine for as long as I want or chat or whatever, as long as I dont start playing a game online. It is very annoying and my PlanetSide 7 day free trial is going to waste. I know it isn't the network since my girlfriends laptop will play games just fine through the port across the room. I have deleted all connections except for my lan connection, I have reinstalled the drivers. The only thing that I can find that might be wrong is my store bought patch cable. It only has 4 wires, now at work we make these cables with 8 wires. Doesn't make sense, since the same cable has server me well for a couple years. I have made a new cable and am taking it home to try tonight. Can anyone else think of any other problems it might be?

My software never has bugs. It just develops random features.
Why doesn't DOS ever say "EXCELLENT command or filename!"
Customer: "How fast will my COM ports go?"
Tech Support: "How hard can you throw your computer?"
