Well if you never got into the single player games then you will fit right in with ESO.

IMHO ESO is by far the best mmo for anyone liking RvR/Mas PvP.  up to 2,000 people allowed in thesame massive battle is insane.  ESO pvp is th emost fun I had PvPing since WARs RvR, or DAoC for that matter.

I think it's THE game to get for PvP players, where as Wildstar offers great PvE experience.

I've played LOTRO for years. I play GW2 and have played SWTOR, Rift and Neverwinter. I've played in two weekend TESO beta's.

All I can say is I am really excited about TESO.  It's going to be my new main game for years.  There's some great videos out there.

Check out a few I've collated on my fan site Next Year In Cyrodiil.

I am asking myself the same question OP.

I have essentially concluded that ESO will be F2P in around 12 months as the sub revenue drops. Once this happens the reality is more or less everything will be monetized in the cash shop.

You will end up paying through the nose to ensure a level playing field when the PvP related gear and items inevitably make their way in to the cash shop....

For that reason, it's a no from me. I can always pick up the game at a later date if Zeni actually choose not to break all of their previous promises and pursue the nickel n dime route. I personally don't see them having the integrity though. They are already phasing in the pay gated content and the game has not even launched :(

12 months of good gaming is not enough for you?   That's some pretty high standards.

Also, most games that go from sub to cash model provide an option to maintain a sub and continue getting the "entire game".

I mean, it's your time and your money, but if you like the game SO MUCH that you know you'll play it for over 12 months, then i think it's outright dumb to then avoid playing it because the payment model may change after a year.  I mean, in a year, we might all be wiped out from the planet.  Deal with that when it happens.
