Sigh, I've been in 3 beta weekends and never was able to get the launcher working. Hopefully, this next one will work for me. Time to delete again and re-install fresh.
Did not bother installing last beta but i`ll try it next weekend... i always wanted the block thing in a MMO + i see i can make some kind of self regenerating melee dps and just farm the crafting stuff... i`d like that every now and then to just catch a butterfly and relax...
In the last couple Dev chats they mentioned "future betas"...note betaS plural. If they are really planning on at least 2 more betas, next week would have to be it...possibly followed by one weekend of the 14th...or maybe even the 21st just to apply a mass logon stress test to verify their servers are ready for the rush the following week.
My guess, if there are indeed 2 betas, is next week (02/28) and one right before launch to verify their servers are ready (03/21).
Of course, nobody knows, but speculation is fun, hehehe.
2 would be good. Would allow enough time for me to try the concept for an alt ... an Altmer melee sorc. I'd eventually train 2-hand and dual. Dest staff thrown in at some point too of course.
my guess is there will be more than one beta. And April 4th is not etched in granite, it can be delayed if they cant fix major bugs by then. It todays MMO market it is no longer acceptable to release a game with major bugs, and there have been some pretty significant bugs in the betas I have been in that would be a major cause for concern if the game released like that.

Highly doubtful they would delay past April 4th. It would generate even more bad will if they delayed past the date that was promised to the legions of folks who pre-ordered. That would be a disastrous business decision of the worst kind.

I'd agree that it's not etched in granite, but it would have to an extreme issue that would cause a game to push out within a 30-40 day window of it's launch. By now the master DVD's have been sent out for reproduction, and within 3 weeks or so retailers will be getting their copies.
You raise a reasonable point, but at this point, we are so far down the path to release, than unless it is something that prevents 75% of people installing from playing, we're going to see launch on it's scheduled date. Right now they are in the "clean-up" and fine tuning, because it'll be pretty close to what you see is what you get. I've seen bugs as well, and some of 'em pretty substantial, but I don't think I'd call any of 'em gamebreaking.

If you are talking about quest bugs and Dark Anchors, they have been fixed on the Closed beta. You guys got a late build to play around in.

Not to be 'that' guy but...
FFXIV is awesome, it has servers that have PC gamers and PS4 gamers on the same server!
ESO is not, it has PS4 gamers on their own servers, Xbox1 gamers on their own servers and PC gamers on their own servers. All to never touch.
I feel this makes it an easy choice. PC or bust.
Not necessarily true. With the way the mega server works. It should always feel like a full zone of players, regardless of the platform. Of course console servers will be half the capacity compared to PC, but I don't think that will really matter in the grand scheme of things.
So you can play with a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of players?
No cross platform servers killed the console ports of this game before they launched.
I'll have it on PC too, but something sounds so appealing about sitting on my couch with a beer, playing. Wouldn't you agree? More players doesn't always = a better experience. I think ESO was designed specifically for smaller groups. It certainly won't ruin my experience.

Waiting for PS4 beta to test this theory!
The number of people who will want to play an MMO on a console is limited.
Then limit that number further by people who will want to pay a monthly fee.
Limit it further by it being separate servers for each iteration of the game.
Limit it further by making the game PvP focused.
Limit it further...
My point is this. If it fails on one of the consoles, or if it is more popular one one or the other, it will have people flocking to where the action is. If any of the iterations had low population it could be made up for by having high populations in the other iterations. Sadly they made sure this will never happen. Making it a gamble buying it on a console at best. I can't believe they are making you get a gold membership on Xbox 1 as well...
Seems like PS4 has an advantage over Xbox1 in that regard.

I agree 100% with everything you just said.
I also think it's a damn shame that they don't offer and are not planning on offering controller support for their PC audience.
Im actually wondering how accounts will work with PC and PS4 if I wanted to buy both.
I understand it will be completely different servers and no access to characters from each separate system but will I have to pay $15/m X 2 if I want to play on PC with certain friends and PS4 with other friends? Or do you think 1 account would give access to both version as long as I am purchasing both versions?
