Love it!
Only question is- why did they wait this close to launch for several of these great changes? Must have been the hands-on press reviews that did it.
I rather think the reason are the beta surveys from the stress beta weekends with a lot more player activity.
There Is Always Hope!
Not exactly a good sign. I'd rather they stick with good game design over what whiners wanted.
Too many instances and phases now. Too much singleplayer story. Softening the faction lock..
It's a very good sign that they are listening to feedback and are willing to make changes, especially so close to launch.
Which leads to the concerning question of why their internal testing did not bring up some of these issues earlier.
They are fixing some minor stuff BEFORE release, stop concerning, start enjoying
For fifteen enchiladas a month, yes.

Because they have their own visions but at the end it is a business. How should they know how players react without the masses of players in the stress betas ?
Some things were changed during the betas a longer time ago and they probably did rethink about it aswell. For example they had a different type of combat system, actually more into the direciton what players did demand in the last beta weekends. I was reading a post about this froms someone who is a long time beta tester.
Its not concerning for me it is rather positive that they react fast and do that all in this short time frame. What could be concerning but is currently not an issue, is the fact that they would listen too much to the masses and leave their own vision. But lets stay in present, speculations are just speculations hehe.

And pie. The cake is a lie.
In the real world, the vast majority don't really give a damn about the payment model. If it's a good game, they will pay. WoW has already proven this to be the case since they are easily the most populated MMO out there and people continue to pay those subscription fees.
The only people who make a stink about subscription fees are a small, vocal minority who like to start forum wars.
Also don't forget that they unlocked race and faction, another big plus that they listened about, and they redessgned the cutesy Ogrim into a horrifying Ogrim after people said it looked retarded.
They've been really good about adapting to player wishes.
Will not be surprised if dueling is in by launch and housing comes with their first expansion.
Smart yes, but also not holier-than-thou stubborn like so many other MMO devs are.
Hmm havent paid any attention to this since one of the beta weekends, but if the whats in the op is true i may give it another look.
can you really skip the starting zones ?
