About Imperial Phalanx
Imperial Phalanx is a military structured Nation that strives to provide a haven for mature, honorable, skilled players to work towards a greater goal in Rhyldan. Though we're a military structured Nation, we’re not a “military simulation” Nation. There's no “Yes Sir”, mundane tasks or strict formalities to follow. Our military structure is designed to organize our forces and enhance our combat effectiveness.
Our Nation participates in all aspects of The Repopulation to include PvP, territorial conquest, crafting, trading, raiding, questing, exploring and we even take special interest in the possibility of a space expansion. We cater to all play styles, combative and non-combative, but our main focus will always be territorial expansion and increasing our Nations presence. If you're looking to band together with like-minded gamers, learn from and support each other, and work together towards Conquest and Glory, then Imperial Phalanx might be the Nation for you.
Organization
We pride ourselves on our high level of organization, which is engineered to maximize the effectiveness of every individual member. All members have a specific occupation within the Nation, which allows us to easily identify each others specialization and play style. Our Nation uses a military style ranking, command, and unit structure in order to coordinate our forces and maximize our effectiveness. Imperial Phalanx is governed as a meritocracy, ensuring that members of higher rank are capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of their rank. All of our Officers serve on the National Advisory Council to help guide the planning and direction of the Nation.
Rank Structure
Imperial Phalanx uses a chain of command based on military structure in order to effectively communicate and coordinate our forces. We take careful consideration when promoting members to Veteran or Officer ranks, ensuring they’re responsible and capable of fulfilling their obligations. The leadership ranks aren't just about seniority, but also a mark of merit and responsibility. If a leader is unable to satisfy the obligations of their rank, we simply move them to the proper position in our ranking structure. Our ranks fall into the following categories;
Recruits
Have been through the recruitment process and are in the evaluation period.
Troopers
The bulk of our forces which includes ranks for new and experienced members.
Veterans
Our seasoned veterans that fill one of three positions within the Nation;
Serve as the primary combat leaders for large groups, Army and Fleet commanders, Nation occupation leaders, politicians, general National administrators and members of the National Advisory Council.
National Politics
Our political philosophy is to remain a honorable and self sufficient Nation that's hostile towards trolls, griefers or any other dishonorable players or Nations. Our goal is to remain a self sufficient Nation with friendly Nations that share similar ideals and values. Should we decide to form an alliance, trust that it's not a decision made lightly and that we'll defend our allies as if they're our own. We recognize that mercenaries and spies are a legitimate aspect of a sandbox and don't perceive them negatively unless they disrupt the new player population. That being said, Imperial Phalanx would never take a contract/mission/etc. that serves a dishonorable purpose.
Award System
Imperial Phalanx uses an award system with a wide range of medals, badges and ribbons to recognize it’s members and their achievements. As a member of our Nation, you get a true sense of accomplishment unlike any other Nation. Awards are granted for a wide range of accomplishments, to include contributions to the Nation, time in the Nation, completing training courses, earning in-game achievements, mastery of your occupation, website activity and much more.
Tactical Training
Imperial Phalanx and it’s members are constantly working on a wide range of training designed to demonstrate proper team play, develop strong combat fundamentals, and share game specific tips and tactics. Training is done through various instructional videos, organized in-game sessions and by constantly using the tactics learned when playing in-game.
What We Do
Imperial Phalanx participates in all aspects of The Repopulation, but mainly focuses on territorial conquest, economic control and repelling trolls and griefers. Players who wish to only focus on a specific aspect of the game will find a good place in our Nation, but all players are required to support the goals of the Nation in one form or fashion.
PvP and Conquest
PvP is the primary activity of our Nation, but we don't force members to participate directly in PvP. If a member doesn't PvP for any reason, that is fine, but they're required to support all Nation operations. The overall direction of our Nation will always be to increase our presence and power within the player population. Though our sights are always set on expansion, we're careful to always leverage the current diplomatic climate to maintain our expansion in a responsible manner.
Trade and Economics
Our Nation recognizes the importance of maintaining a strong economic presence and the ability to mass produce the necessities of war at a moments notice. We make every effort to support our crafters and feed our top craftsmen with the resources necessary to remain on top of their game. It’s our goal to maintain the ability to craft the best items in-game on demand and to provide the full range of high quality crafted items on the open market.
PvE and Raiding
Our Nation embraces all aspects of PvE to include hunting, questing, raiding, exploration and any other worthwhile activity. While members are not required to participate in PvE, it’s highly encouraged. We are constantly refining our strategies and aiming to take down the biggest and baddest targets and harvest the richest treasures the world of Rhyldan has to offer.
Space
When space is added into the game, probably a long time from now, our Nation will be ready to blast off into the cosmos. Just as with the ground game, we'll participate in all aspects of space, but focus primarily on PvP.
