Not sure what my favorite moment, or part of the living story was for this amazing game. Most recently had to have been the Marionette fight.
After looking forward to the update since its announcement on the website, i was excited right off the bat. Then the day finally came, waiting patiently for the "New Build Is Available" to appear on my screen as me and my fellow guild members were eagerly talking about what awaits us, till the text finally appeared. Restarting my computer and getting back into the game as fast as my internet would allow then got to work figuring out what to do. At first noone knew, we wandered around the map it was supposed to be in looking for some trick to activate it. Someone thought it had to deal with the probes being destroyed so we got all those in the map and waited.... still nothing.
So we waited for a little bit more, and the event finally started, everyone raced to the area of the map, filling in the different valleys of the circle around the Marionette, everyone trying to figure out what was going on and how we go about killing the mechanical monster. We decided to try and split evenly into the lanes thinking we had to defend.. Then we heard someone say a portal was open in the first lane, so everyone went there, piling into it and killing the first round of champs. then it pushed us out, everyone said good job until we realized, as we tried to enter the portal in lane 2 it wouldnt let us.. so the few that did not have time to make it into lane 1 went in. Sadly, in large text, we were told they had failed. then lane 3 opened, the large zerg of people still having the timer so we could not enter, so we waited, defending the lanes as best we could, then lane 3 failed. and a few of the zerg charged in at lane 4. Failed. Lane 5. Failed. Then it came back to lane 1. Failed. Everyone yelling in map chat as the mega cannon charged and killed everyone in the event area, ending our first try at marionette. The next hours i spent figuring out and discussing how we should go about this monster of a livingstory.
Finally later that night or the next (cant remember). After arriving in the map an hour early, and planning out with other people in teamspeak and map chat how we were going to win. Then it was go time, and after much yelling, a lot of panic, and a whole lot of dead Scarlet's minions. WE GOT IT! the Marionette fell from her chains as they were severed in the last few seconds by lane 5! Cheerful yells were shouted in teamspeak! and mapchat was showered in things like "FINALLY!" "Good job!" and "hell yes!" as everyone entered the final portals, having a giant party over the chest of loot we had earned. Every ones excitement grew as we learned our server, Ehmry Bay, was the first NorthAmerican server to beat it! (A European server beat us to it, congrats to them still)
A bit lengthy I know, I tend to get carried away with this stuff, and show people what an experience video games in general can be. But this is one of my most recent and favorite memories created by this great living story Anet has been putting hours of work into, and i thank them for this and hope there is many more to come.
I've never played GW2 but I have some friends playing everyday and I would like to enjoy as much as they do. This giveaway can be my oppurtunity to get it. I'll hope to be lucky, at least just this time.
The Trial by combat in Lion's Arch. Really liked how I got to choose the person to help me, made helping people out earlier on actually feel impactful.
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
Now it wasn't for anything major to do with the content.
It was just the fact of seeing The Crown Pavilion restored.
I think it was the first time in an mmo I saw a major change to an area (rather than them just being static boring worlds) - gave a sense of changes can happen.
Add to this - since seeing Escape from Lions Arch they sure are following the living / changing world theme.
The best part of the living story was actually before they called it living story if I recall correctly. It was the introduction of the Southsun Cove area, but then in particular the hour-long event to kill the mother of all crabs! The lag was awful and ArenaNet wasn't happy with the one-time events, but man it was awesome!
I’ve always enjoyed Wintersday, both in GW1 & GW2. The mood, the beautiful decorations…and the SNOWBALL FIGHTS!! Can’t stop knocking random people down with a fierce snowball!
I stopped playing a bit after release due to a lack of things to do. With the living story there is constantly changing environments to keep me entertained
I dont have GW2, have been played trial before few months But what i really enjoy was Norn personal storyline. And yes, i really want play GW2 again, and for the eternity with this giveaway
Kicking Zhaitan butt at the end of the original story. the battle in the sky on a battleship was epic for sure and the whole airship battle was nicely executed.
I've been playing when I can since slightly before day 1, hoping GW2 will add mounts and minimize waypoint teleporting, I find it to be a bit emersion-breaking, also a dungeon finder would be quite handy.
only just started playing this game with my pre-wifey, we are really enjoying it.
We have not got far in the game yet so my favorate part is being a sylvari - what an interesting species that really connected with my girls interests.
We started off fighting the nightmare individually and then when we awoke we immediately grouped up at the pale tree.
We chuckled when we thought the armor system was broken because we were naked and spent 5 minutes trying to "fix" it ... we eventually spoke to the first person who gave us our armor back!!.
We enjoyed our outing around arbor bay killing zombies and doing some of the group events, they were fun! we moved off to kill spiders and chuckled when we found the potions that made you change sizes while spiderbashing!

I think mine was definitely The Queen's Jubilee.

I have found in my lifetime, that the beauty of hating stupid people is, that it crosses all racial boundaries.
I'd have to say Bazaar of the Four Winds. I had a lot of fun with that one. Especially getting the achievements.
Although, I enjoyed Southsun too.
