Title say's it all.
Don't expect to be able to compete if you don't spend cash. You will have to buy level appropriate weapons and armor in order to stand a chance. If not, as soon as the people that do pay to win realize you don't, they will just walk across the map, disregarding your pathetic weapon, and kill you in one or two shots.
Completely pay to win, be advised.
The game play is good, the idea is good and the matches at lower level are fun, but when you run up against one person that pays, he can and will literally destroy your team out of hand. easily. No matter how good your tactics/teamwork unless you can focus fire him (which will leave you exposed to the rest of the team) you won't be killing anyone that pays to win.
