I know you are all tired of my Groups are broken rant. But please hear me out.
This weekend if you have not had the chance to play in a group, please do so. That way you can add your input into the issue, Even if you think it's fine, or think it is broken. Only way this game will succeed is to please the majority of it's players.
So while you are TESTing the game this weekend make sure you get in a group at least a couple times at various points, if you can and are willing really test the crap out of it by trying to group with people a level or two off from you, or try to group up to help someone through a quest.
In my experience the phasing doesn't allow for much variances in your group when it comes to the social aspect of grouping and that would be just trying to help each other. I would love to see if that was just the last beta weekend, or just a fluke with my experiences, or if it is going to be as wide spread as I think it will be.
This game has a lot of awesome components to it, and even though I still see some people bashing it, I only have this one concern that is holding me back from pre-ordering it.
After the weekend test is over, come back here and let me know how your experience was with groups in TESO.

I group for some things and not others.
I grouped in PVP - worked great
I grouped for the level 12 instance dungeons - worked great
I grouped for open world dungeons with whoever happened to also be there - worked great
I grouped for raiding all the skull and crossbones elite camps on the map - worked great
I grouped for Dark Anchors - worked great
I did NOT group for solo questing... I gather this is the type of grouping that makes you feel it's broken.... shrug.

Well instead of that why dont you just pay a few $ and buy an Imperial Edition 5 day early start key [mod edit]
You can then be sure you will be in early Start 5 days before release, playing an Imperial if you wish, with the XP rings and a horse.
After that you will know whether you want to pay for an Imperial Retail Key, the Standard Key or leave the game alone.
For a few $$ this has to be one of the very best ways to get into ESO at minimal cost ready for maximum enjoyment.
Say goodbye to phoney discount codes from GMG that disguise the real retail price of the game and see what is on offer around release with open pricing.
This is true, however, from the post above you, you may notice a lot of people did not see the same issues as I did.
But I don't think they are expanding into the issues I really saw.
For instance, play at your own rate, get to level 7 or 8, then go back to try and help a person through a quest you already completed. In one case, you can not see them, or any of the quest mobs due to phasing.
I think the biggest issue I am having is that you can not go back and help a friend do a quest. If I just did a level 8 quest on one of the starter islands, and a friend of mine logs in and wants to group up, if/when they get to that quest I could not help them because I had already done it, and therefore changed the phase I am in. I could not use the travel to group member option to correct this.
So I am guessing that is how phasing was intended to work, or a side effect of the phasing system either way, it makes it difficult in my opinion to play with specific friends, but does not inhibit the ability to group with random players that are at the same story points as you.

Thats because grouping currently does not work for solo content, which is where the OP is complaining about... And he is right..

I didnt try that much grouping in dungeons etc. But i tried grouping doing normal quests and the like. I must say I had the feeling of doing it alone and not in a group.
IMHO. Playing a Massive Multi online "roleplaying game" you should have the feeling group with friends and people you might meet.
Not like you play Skyrim just with a bunch of other players running around doing normal quest sololy.
and the phasing thing is not fun if you want to back track and help your friends who might be behind. and you arent able to group with them. Whats the Idea of playing a game with you friends if you cant "play" with them.
But for the rest of the content the game was a great experience for me!!!!
Hope they fix the group thing.
May peace prevail.

Okay, so other people get my point, thank you.
I agree this game is awesome in almost all of the major aspect I look for, other than the fact that friends can not go back and help friends that started later, or fell behind the group a little because they took a day off. It doesn't make sense to me.
I think one solution could be the option to "aid" another player, where it might scale your skills and abilities, or your level to match the player you are "Aiding" and allow you to be in their phase without effecting the outcome, only helping them fight, and guiding them through.
It just boils down to the fact that no matter the quest size, length, difficulty, I might just want to hang out in the game with a friend that lives else where and BS with them via head set while playing the game.

When do you get group content? I mean what level, so far (level 6) every single quest is solo and I'm getting completely bored of soloing.
There is some open world group content starting around your level
By level 15 there are 3 Group Dungeons and one open world group dungeon
By level 10 there is PvP..
My strongest opinion is that their current solo content should be possible to do as a group or as a solo experience... with dynamically adjusting content to the number of players.... Its just an algorythm that they need to implement... and use their scaling thats allreay in the game...

I did some group dungeons with the group finder. When I did a dungeon outside my faction zone, I ended up in a different instance than my group was in, and I had to leave and port back in. The problem is that it cost ingame gold to port to dungeons, and if you port too often the price goes up. I ended up paying 300g per try to find my group(seriously......) Eventually I was broke and had to quit.
I don't like this system where you have to pay gold to do dungeons. You also have to pay to repair your gear, so a dungeon can cost you 300-500g depending on deaths and ports. On the other side the chance to get a usefull blue item is rather slim.
