What do you guys think?
RotS did get an "R" rating at first. Many, many, parents complained. Lucas had to publiclly appologize and edit out lots of parts, and violent scenes. RotS is now rated "PG-13". The original early SW movies were rated "PG" !

There is a no spoliers post so if you got here go back....
Best of 3 better than 6 on par with 4 and as emotional as 5.....
How I sum that up.
Only time I heard people laughing the whole movie was when Yoda smacked the guards aside... which was really cool to see them again but dang it do they do anything but act as props? Poor guards...
The movie was great but VERY sad. Anakin caused it ALL. Tho truth is Sidius manipulated everything what it boils down to was a choice in the end for Skywalker and the fool going dark cause the way Sidius manipulated Anakin. It dang well better be clear why children are taught not to be emotional... look at all the havok it wrought..... Tho I think the Jedi would have won if they used the dark side too.
Note: ever noticed when every Sith Lord died it was due to a Jedi's fit of rage ala darkside?
Obi versus Maul?
Anakin versus Dooku?
Luke Versus Vader?
Anakin (as Vader) versus Sidius?
Sorry but it seems the biggest mistake was the Jedi not allowing most of the Jedi to understand and respect the dark side of the force.
Seems like it is the best time to get all emotional...
P.S. No Obi versus Anakin doesn't count. His stupidity cost him the victory.
You know why.. Anakin turned into the dark side... It's all because they say that anakin is the chosen one to bring back balance to the force.. but what did every Jedi do.. they don't trust Anakin, they take him for granted and only Palpatine a.k.a. Sith is the only one who makes Anakin discover the real power of a Jedi...
REAL quick the part about Liea remembering her mother's face? Could that had not been her adopted mother since she had no idea at the time she was a skywalker?

Amadilla could have changed her identity to hide from the empire. i think that is not only feasible but probable.
i havent seen it yet though. But i think they should let MAce windu live just cus he is one of my favorite jedi....
him and Kyle from the Jedi knight dark forces series.

You think they should let Mace live? The deed was done way before the original movies came out- maimed and killed by Anakin.
Also, what people think is Lucas hiding details to create suspense is actually a coincidence to what is really happening. I agree with my local paper- Lucas' intricity to detail is totally overcast by his less than stellar ability to create disposable characters. How many times has Lucas built up characters only to have them killed so quickly? Maul, Jin, Jengo...

ya just cus i like mace, but him and the whole council are idiots.
what does the phrase balance to the force mean. lets take it apart.
balance means EQUAL. equal means just as much light and dark side. this is what caused all the jedi to be annihilated the fact they wanted balance. when balance just means there almost all gonna die.
other then that i just love mace for some odd reason. i dont know maybe its the fact that i like him way way better then qui gon or any of the other more senior jedi.
and u cant tell how old he is...... he shows no signs of age.

Such a shame. And seems sort of odd. Even with the PG-13 rating parents were going bonkers. And lucas's response was just, "It's a story. And this is how I decided to tell it."
Now are you sure about this? I haven't heard anything before about it being R. If this is true. I'd like to see some article or whatnot explaining it in detail; and looking forward to an uncut version.

- George Lucas interview with Associated Press (AP is where most mainstream media takes its news from, so check any major newspaper in past week... 2 weeks (at library).
(Might be current issue, May 2005? June 2005?.... or somewhere in past 2-6 issues? Check your local Libary, in periodicals section. They keep past issues of all major media.)
Every major movie goes through a pre-screening period. There's 1 or more to decide on its rating. There's 1 or more to decide on audiance reaction (and then they might do last minute editing). There's 1 or more to get specially selected audiances to fill out detailed questionaires. Sometimes it is even more detailed than that!!! After you see the movie it litterally is like being in a school classroom in the movie theater! All these studio people talking with the audiance for 1-4 hours. The audiance talking back to them. Hands being raised. Being asked to write on notebook paper that they hand out, what you think about certain scenes, a certain actor, anything specific they ask you about. You spend more time being interviewed than watching the actual pre-screening LOL!
In major cities Revenge of the Sith was pre-screened for selected audiances. The marketing people choose these audiances, then have them fill out questionaires. They also watch audiance reaction. Hollywood exects, studio people, and many times the directors, production people, and sometimes (but rarely) the actors, are at these pre-screenings for selected audiances. I can imagine their "target audiance" of parents spewing on the marketing people, studio people, production people, and maybe even Lucas himself if he was present. (Or Lucas could have been undercover near by. Or even in the camera room secretly watching and listening.)
I went to a few in New York City. (I saw "XXX:State of the Union" at the movies 4 weeks before it came out. I even have a friend who saw it 2 times before it came out LOL! I saw "Kicking And Screaming" weeks before it came out, at the movies. The studio interviewed us after the movie.) The first screaning/marketing preview I ever went to a few years ago, after the audiance saw the movie, they asked me to leave 1 hour into the questioning LOL! They thought I wasn't part of the "right target group for the movie" after I told them my true opinions about the movie, and how to make it better! LOL! I'm on a special mailing list. And they also have my phone number. Whenever they feel there's a movie in which I am part of the "right target audiance" they call me and ask me if I can come into their special pre-screening. Sometimes there is many of them for a movie before it comes out.
Ok I heard there was alot cut out of the movies cause a preview with parents was PISSED. I know quite of bit in the book was not mentioned including Obi speaking with Qui-Gon and Yoda landing on Dagobah which will hopefully be added by the time it hits DvD.
Padame' DOES die.
Apparently after Yoda fled he relized the mistake the jedi made was sticking to strictly tradition while the Sith evolved. Obviously Sidius controlled his emotions so he could manipulate the Jedi.
Apperently the Jedi hadn't changed at all and Anakin was sent from the froce to restore the balance by Anakin leading them to learning both the light and dark aspects.
If what I heard is true, (hadn't read the books) then I was correct. The ONLY reason Jedi won against the Sith cause they used their anger in a controlled manner to defeat them. Jedi ARE better than Sith but that is because they refuse to use both and Jedi if becomes angry are truly the balanced concept the force wanted.
Guess the morale of the story is the Jedi should have been more open minded into change and stop sitting on the fence. The war the Sith started allready showed Jedi doing things they shouldn't have by their codes... So I think they were THIS close to being saved by Anakin but screwed it up by making Anakin feel he had to hide what he felt all the time.
Thus he fell to the dark side and FORCED the Jedi to change. Sorta sucks this wasn't explained in the movie in more detailed tho... That would make me understand ALOT better being confirmed instead of guessing through the last two movies that this was true.. Would have been nice for that sort of confirmation.
Before posting stuff that you know happen in the movie. Not everyone has seen it yet. It is one reason why I made a new thread with NO SPOILERS in the title. But someone might go through this tread.

I went to the cinema the 19th so everyone who wanted to see the film immediatly would have gone and i wouldn't have to make a reservation. The 19th about 10% of the cinema was full (not much).
However it was a great movie with loads of action. It also cleared up a few question i had. I cant wait till it is released on DVD then ill have my own saga complete.
Great scenes with New weapons and a Grevious with 4 lightsabers (I only saw him use two at a time which was dissapointing) and the transformation into TIE-fighters and X-Wings is also visable.
Too bad this was the final Star Wars movie. The fans (like me) however know where to find even more star wars movies. You can download Star Wars Revelation with Xfire www.xfire.com and you can download Star Wars A Great and Majestic Empire at www.ukmercs.co.uk
Im currently editing A GaME to make it into one big movie. However with my exams coming up it will take a while. Hopefully it will be released in July.
I'd pay big bucks to see a "non Hitchcockian" RotS. Direct gore scenes have never made it into Star wars and I know that since RotS is supposed to be dark, Lucas wanted it to be very violent.

Oh yeah here's a spolier for you there is apparently another version of SW OT comming in November that adds the new stormtrooper voices (making them all sound the same like in the PT) and other minute changes. Also might have two versions of the film one being the original unedited version.
I saw it on Thursday at 9 pm...anyways I was kind of disappointed..I really thought it would be real good and it wasn't..at least not to me.I guess it was good tho....

Hmm got to love hype.It exists in mmorpg games and extends to movies.
28% say this is the best movie ever .What a laugh.Better then LOTR???And to me thats not even the best movie ever.
The acting alone disqualifies it from best movie ever!
