Yeah, I got that refund. For a person who likes SOE as much as I do, this is as close to being scammed as I ever felt.

This program, Landmark, is many months away from being a game, IF they choose to make it a game.

Who knows a year from now Landmark could be a real sandbox mmo with game play systems, as of right now it's a free to use 3d modeling tool with gathering materials used as a pay gate and revenue stream.

Sad day, the first refund I've ever asked for.

I think you maybe need to read things a little more carefully.  They have a roadmap out, and from everything I watched, they have tried to clearly state where the game is, and where it is going.  Yes it is many months away from being completed, they never stated otherwise, closed beta probably will last at least 4-6 months, if not longer.

This is why I have said all along that I am more excited for Next, then Landmark, as Landmark will take time to become fully realized, and may eventually become the bigger of the two.

Stop misrepresenting bcbully. He is upset that the sandbox is really just your own claim. But yeah, it would be hard to make landmark work without discouraging builders. EQN deems like the place for more freedom.

If you bought Alpha/Beta access at random without any idea what was happening I could understand the "scam" but they've delivered pretty much exactly as promised or at least have a time line of when certain systems will be available.

You wanting X when they are promising Y doesn't make it a scam. It means your expectations are not aligned with the developers and there is only one person to blame for that.

Plenty of us are enjoying Landmark and see what it could bring down the road. While I'm more looking forward to EQN, I still see the promise in LM.

The fact that they are offering a full refund even after making it very very clear of what is going on is about as far away from a scam as they can make it.

GOD, where is the UPVOTING in this forum so I can +1 stuff like this?

TK'ing and even griefing enemy outfits in PS2 is like ... a way of life by the way.  You can bet heavily it's that way specifically b/c TRay,Higs, and Smed are all master tier douches.  Those EQN guys (&girls) meanwhile all remind me the people who took over sesame street after Henson died  D:

That said... for a year I was an Admin for a gaming network that hosted just ONE Minecraft Server.  The SHEER AMOUNT of drama llamas due to massive unwarranted self-importanace of so many aspergers sufferers which I had to listen to every day in our Teamspeak meetings .....  made me wanna strangle kittens.  It completely eclipsed ALL of the other Online FPS & RPG games combined for daily dramalanches even though they only made up like 10% of our server traffic.    People are super-territorial even for territory they don't own, just look at any "neighborhood homeowner's association", or any other likeminded group-think Gestapos.  They SHOULD be worried, the drama potential is massive.  If SOE is smart, they'll approach this problem really slowly and not overreact instead of just nerfing everything under the sun like they always do with everything else  (HAH! who am I kidding?).

TRay is a Senior Art Director. Where would he even come into play in the decision to put friendly fire in the game? Please also explain WTF "griefing enemy outfits" is about?

"As far as the forum code of conduct, I would think it's a bit outdated and in need of a refre *CLOSED*"

    He's still a creative director b/c he's obviously Hig's "right hand [censored]".

Griefing enemy outfits is all about attacking their Morale.  If they have anyone streaming, you ghost them through their twitch and spam n00b tubes or libs or other cheese at their smaller elite "operations" or training exercises.  Ya call them out in /yell, and start some crap over forums / twitter to their websites.  Get your whole squad to bombard their leaders with PMs.   Deploy sundies on their sundies and have a farm-off or concussion war.  Switch to their faction and back-shoot 'em till weapons locked.  Deploy turrets and other crap blocking their line of site/movement.  Raid them with fury flashes or anything else that's just incredibly stupid but funny to watch.  Even start forced memes from their member reactions or try to get their favorite weapons nerfed

Where would TRay come into play in the decision to put friendly fire in the game though, and what would he have to do with "griefing enemy outfits"? Not really following.

Dude you have no idea how disgusting that video is to me.

AT THIS POINT EQN:L is more of a tool than an mmorpg. Who knows that could change in a month. Videos like this don't give me much hope though.

Uhm, the game was adverticed as a tool to build stuff, code quests, create NPCs ect.

Kinda sure this is a case of "you should read at least the first line of stuff before you buy it".

MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.

Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?

All the PvP totals should be added together as it is essentially the same thing only to very limited degree which means it would beat the people that say they never want pvp.

I have a feeling this poll was created in that way to divide the pvp players for a reason.....cause Sony is too damn lazy and doesn't want to take the time to think one out....maybe, hope not.

Either you didn't read those answers I gave you, or you're just kinda brainfarting on the fact that only 1-1/2 of them I listed even required TK'ing for the level of Freedom or what you'd call "Griefing" involved.  And I already told you, TRay is always right there with Higby, usually commenting on those very issues in videos as if he was personally justifying many of the design decisions.  That implies he was also in the design meetings or atleast the Alpha testing, which is actually very common for studios in crunch time.  You'd have to really be reaching to claim that art and only art is the only thing he knows about or was ever involved in given the many things he's commented on.  (believe it or not, artists can be some of the most opinionated gamers around and is probably the reason most studios DONT LET them represent the studio in forums)

It's probably not even a good thing in hindsight, but it's still something that their "NEXT" team could learn from in the future once they're at a point where they can really start re-injecting a more competitive nature into the game
