How about 95% more sandbox then most MMORPG's :P I understand a lot people are butt hurt I guess there was a big patch that had ruined a lot of Sandbox Features and don't get me wrong I feel for them. But at least its still more then most games. But I'm learning I'm 100% new and will follow up on it as time goes on. To bad Trion can't get their act together.

Archage was never sandbox.
People just need to stop calling sandbox whatever is just slightly different...
Well what do you define as a Sandbox? As Eve Online will never be nor ever has been a full Sandbox. I mean it has Sandbox features clearly just like ArcheAge but most games will never be Sandbox.

Archeage was always Sandpark, even years ago.
The themepark elements helps to add to the ultimate sandbox / roleplay experience.
And it's the closest thing any AAA MMORPG will come to sandbox in the near future. The themepark is there to assist for sandbox / roleplay stories. It's not a full sandbox like minecraft where you just make shit up. Believable stories are going to be those which adhere to the lore.
Themeparkers may cut it down for not having a quest to follow... sandboxers cut it down for not having a toolset to create worlds.
But it's an amazing game, and one I will stick with .. FINALLY !! ...
It is sandpark, no question. Endgame is sandbox though, once higher levels learn the ropes, so to speak, fully sandbox. That's good for everyone who sticks around, genius move on XLGames, soon to be a Trion port.

Careful OP, don't let them derail your thread with the argument about what constitutes a sandbox, you are correct, some games have more sandbox like features and designs than other, and there is a tipping point somewhere, but likely not the same for everyone.
Back to the subject, as a fan of virtual worlds, I appreciate a large game world, Vanguard was a great example of what I enjoy.
But, where Vanguard fell short was there wasn't much to do in all the space. They either packed it full of mobs, so much that you could hardly walk, or it was empty.
You need to build actual content into that world. I should be able to wander around and find a cave unexpectedly, or a stash of hidden loot, or some evil Siren that tries to lure me to my death with the promises of cheap beer and erotic sex. (virtual of course)
Probably not that hard to build a big world, but will be interesting to see if AA can actually give us something fun to do while we're in it. (you know, like windsurfing, or base jumping, now that would be cool)

Sandbox implies non-linear design/gameplay. There is no progression, no power to chase, no path to follow.
EVE is sandbox by all means.
Got to stop you there.
From your depiction, it sounds like this game isn't for you.
Phystical content is open housing, farming, and castle sieges. Gameplay content is social and relating to others. It isn't solo player oriented.
It sounds like you want a fun solo player game, where you can "win". [all the references to me myself and I] .. I'm not sure this game is for you.

Sandboxing starts, when we are grown up into the world and know our turf.
I agree with OP, the world is really omfg huge ^^
I do agree that it's not 100% sandbox due to story quest. However, the quests are scattered all over the place. You can follow your main story quest on rail, but you'll miss those hidden side quests on the other part of the map.
