Hello all you new MxO players. This is joobax (in game character). I know almost everything about the game and can answer 95% of the questions. I want to help anyone out who has questions, and just make this a long thread instead of 90 threads asking 4 questions.

Dont flame either, this is questions and answers. im sure theres lots of people who know the answers other than my self that will gladly help.

First off, heres a general help question new players ask.

Q"What do i do after the tutorial?"

A just find the green phone at the bottom of your UI. click it and click the missions tab, click on the title of the first mission and press accept. run to the Waypoint and climp the stairs or take the elevator by pressing the elevator pad located on the wall.

Any questions are acceptable, but remember, no flaming. leave that to other posts.

Could you like tell me about the upcoming event or the events you had before?

I mean, if I'm getting into an event then I will stay in it until it stops or can I like choose if I wanna join it or not O.o?

Good Question. The most recent event is the hunt for morpheous (i dunno how to spell his name image)

All sides will take a roll into finding and tracking him down. Most events are broadcasted by the Organazation. ex. Agent gray will send out a message to all machinists saying that so and so is here at this time. You can choose to show up or not.

Past events include Invalesco, the hunt for a crazy vampire. (who was killed) We had N30_Agents attack popular hardlines. We had a hunt for Neo where you could find snipits of his last thoughts on N30_agents. i think there were over 100 parts.

If anyone would like to add onto my answer feel free.

Oh no, its run by a full team of Dev's whose soul purpose is to run events every month. Then theres player runned events such as Weddings, fight nights and all that good stuff.

Hmm.. Ok, but when I'm going to do the trial (starting on the 20th May) then I would like to try the game without and with the event too.

Since there aren't events going on every day.

actually, there ARE events every day, if you're in the right place at the right time.

The RP team who playes the "movie characters" play almost constantly. It's not unheard of for Morpheus, Seraph, etc to recruit a team of players for a special mission, or whatever.

These aren't the major events that are announced, it's just a benefit of having a team dedicated to bringing the story to life.

Heres another great question people ask.

Q: Hows the player versus player combat and are there places to do it?

A: First off. PvP is unbalanced and lame. Hackers kill everyone. Hackers are the gods of pvp. but operative vs operative interlock battles are very intertaining.

Second, the places are called constructs. They have the best loot in the game and they are shut off by levels. I.E. Yuki is levels 15-25 PvP zone. So that players have a chance. And from what ive seen its not a gankfest on normal servers.

Servers with Hostile next to them are SUPER gank fests. that is for anyone past level 15. I recommend not playing on a hostile server unless you are PvP horny.

Are there really no questions for this game :(? A lot of you guys are getting test keys and will need to know a lot before you play otherwise you will be lost.

Do your ever get is situations where u got to run like hell from the evil npc and get into long chases like the movie?

  • Wharg0ulWharg0ul Member Posts: 4,183

    Not really....due to Hyper-Jump :(

Mobs can't hyper-jump, Agents (non-player Agents, anyway) can't hyper-jump...there's really no exciting chases at all. You just hop on top of a building and laugh at them.

And of course....no car chases, since there are no drivable vehicles.

Ok, I'm stuck with a Zion mission, where I got to get 2 items, but the thing is that I can't find them anywhere. I aborted it and tried again, but still there was nothing.

The quests that make you get things have the items in desks and such that are circled green.  Im not sure what your takling about since im machinist, but look in the desks.

  • sushimeessushimees Member Posts: 489

Tried 3 times already, and you know what... 2 of them didn't even have any clickable desks or things. Only the enemies dropped something, but that still was nothing to do with the mission.

I'm helplessly stuck now in this mission and can't complete it.

Once it said I had to get a Dossier from the captain. I killed 2 captains in the same mission and none of them dropped it.

I dont know what to tell you. If its critical then just group up with someone that  has already done it. If not then no worries, just do assassination missions.

also, you can use the "V" key in a mission to highlight all interactable objects for a few seconds. So this in each room. You may have missed something.

Have you sent a /ccr yet?

Ah, well I quit the Zionists and joined with the Machines (no I'm not evil). Anyways, I got normal and critical missions now, but I wanna know, how do you get more critical missions?

Since I went to anhoter place and found out that I had a critical mission, finished it and only had normal missions.

keep gaining faction points by doing normal missions. Eventually, you'll unlock new critical missions, every now and then.

Also, try doing missions in differant areas, IE: International, Westview, etc. Some critical missions only show up in those areas.

And good luck with the ones Down Town ;)

New critical mission packs are released once a month I think? So once you have done the current ones you gotta wait for the next ones to be implemented.

    one question

Are there servers that you could choose to play without pvp?

Have played: CoH, DDO EQ2, FFXI, L2, HZ, SoR, and WW2 online

  • sushimeessushimees Member Posts: 489

Anhoter question. How in the world, do I get to complete the missions at lvl 10+. All of my missions lead to the restricted areas, where an agent comes out from thin air and shoots me dead in one shot?

It said I had to get a data node or something like that, but I have no idea, how or where to get it.

There are indeed servers you can play on where PvP is optional. Any server that''s not noted as being "Hostile" is such a server. On those servers, you may opt to join PvP by typing /pvp , or by attacking any red (hostile) player. Otherwise, you are safe from the PvP combat.

    Critical missions in restricted areas....

in order to make restricted areas safer, you need to access the data node for that area. Certain exile gang members that can be found in teh streets drop access cards. You then take the card to the appropreate area and search for the data node, and use the card on it.

There are lists of data node locations, and the mobs that drop the cards on various web sites. You can also search the official forums for these lists.

    Good luck!

Use hyper-jump to stay on the roof-tops.
