With the Elder Scrolls Online launch less than a month away now, there’s no doubt the Zenimax team is burning the midnight oil on getting the game out the door and fully polished. Yet, with several key items of beta feedback from the testers emerging over the past few weeks, the team is still focusing on addressing these pre-launch. The road toward launch seems to lie in listening to the players, even at this late stage. That responsiveness is reassuring, and it’s bringing us back to some of the greater purpose of beta testing.

And look how that turned out
this should only get better kudos to zenimax for listening to the community
Best PvP MMORPG since DAoC.
There is always at least one that can't deal with the fact people are excited about something that they don't like. I am not excited but I will be playing come launch.
I didn't come here to ruin your cornflakes because you are excited. I hope you have fun and get much enjoyment from the product.
I do feel encouraged by Zenimax actions, and the fact they listen to there testers and future playerbase.
Encouraged enough to preorder the digital imperial edition and take it from there.
See you in Cyrodill fellow ESO players!
;-)
I don't think that's exactly it. Most people probably like the idea that the world changes as you do quests. However that doesn't mean I don't want to be able to join my friend that hasn't yet completed the quests that caused the world to change for me. It's very depressing to find a friend, join them and end up seeing a disembodied arrow floating around.
It'd be nice if I could opt to join them in their phase, and help them with their questing. Since there's so much phasing it's very hard to actually play with someone if you don't always play with them.
That said, in narrative games like this, I tend to like to mostly solo taking my time. Playing with others when not strictly needed tends to stress me out and make me feel like I have to skip through dialogs faster.
SWTOR did it nicely, but was annoying for people with different play styles (the "skip dialog" and "listen to it all" people, and those in-between).
Elite: Dangerous - Space Exploration & Trading.
I'm glad that they are looking into the phasing issues, that's the positive side.
I'm still annoyed that something like that hasn't come up way way earlier and more to the point, how can a developer of a MMORPG not take into consideration the experience for playing as a group.
it's not typical WOW, it might be typical MMO players.
However, you are a pretty good example of a person coming from a single player game point of view.
Noone (or at least the vast majority) want the changed environment to change. What we want is to play as a group (and then we can choose whose reality we should experience) and not be forced to play as a single player game (or coordinate every single quest response) just to be able to carry on as a group.
Many MMO players likes to group and alot of them play with a certain number of friends. The current ESO build punish people for playing together for longer than a single quest, not because of tougher quest or other gameplay issues but purely because the logistics to stay together becomes a nightmare.
I believe their post-weekend surveys aren't really asking the right questions. It's basically the same exact survey sent out over and over... They only have a couple of open-ended questions in them and generally they are targeting a very specific feature. So they've entirely missed the boat on collecting a wide variety of what-could-have-been-useful info.
I'd love to explain why I gave some things low ratings (consistently from the first survey to the most recent) and other things a high. But the narrowness of the questions precludes that.
Brace yourselves, ESO disappointment threads are soon upon us. a few weeks before launch "OMG So exicted I can't wait! This game will rock everything ever released!!" 2 weeks after launch "Game sucks". Sorry to burst your pony lala-land happy meals, but besides graphics, what exactly does this game have to offer again? I for one will always be the one that will stand with those that believe Skyrim should have been multi player instead of creating a whole new MMO. Don't get me wrong, those that never played a MMORPG, will love TESO, but if you're like me and have played MMO's since the early 90's, you've pretty much seen it all and TESO to my eyes isn't really all that. I'll say it again, the graphics are the best I've seen, other then that I've seen pretty much all of it in other MMO's.
Anyway, ya'll have fun while it lasts.
It needs to stay burned? Why? Can't a town rebuild?
There is no best for the fallen.
The first beta I did, my Survey went to a hidden Promotions box in my email so I thought I missed being included. I went to their site, and saw that you can directly send feedback via email rather than in survey form. By going that route, you are able to be as thorough as you want to be.

I've been playing for as long, or longer, than you and I have to say that ESO (for me) is the most complete, in-depth MMO that has been in the market in the last 8 years.
No bubbles to burst here either. I've played in the last two Beta Weekends and I've seen for myself what the game has to offer. This coming weekend is the last Beta opportunity, and I will be partaking of that as well. Have you tried the game yourself, or is your erudite commentary based simply on screenshots? You've only remarked on graphics, is why I ask.
You seem to be a Skyrim fan, as well as an avid MMO player. It might be worth your while to check the game one last time for free. Who knows, you may end up liking it and come back with a less belittling contribution to share.
Well duh they're going to change whatever they can based on feedback. They want as much cash as possible near launch meaning they need to be catering to as many different people as possible. They also know a great amount of people will not continue a subscription but the real money is in the box sales. The sub is just icing on the cake for them.
Almost no MMO has ever changed anything this close to launch. Typically, what you see in beta is EXACTLY what you get when the game goes live, so what the hell are you talking about?
