So here is some more information from Matt Firor about the first adventure zone Craglorn. Sounds like we won't have one at launch, but I'm not sure that's a really big deal as long as it comes soon enough. Personally I hope they spend most attention on bug fixing right now since that seems to need a lot of attention.
One thought though - I'm not sure how I feel about his reference to Craglorn as a zone of "repeatable content". Makes me think of daily quest and daily dungeon run mania or something. We'll see how it turns out I suppose.
"In addition to continuous pre-launch adjustments, we have been developing lots of additional content for the game. Soon we’ll reveal our first post launch content update, the adventure zone, ‘Craglorn’ which is dedicated to group-based, end-game PvE repeatable content. It’s the start of our commitment to meaningful updates which will be coming shortly after launch and regularly." - Matt Firor

Well that kind of sucks. I guess you have 50+ and 50++ content.
They have about 6 weeks to launch this thing. They pull a FF14 and wait 3+ months, there will be some issues I think.
You know how much content there is allready?
Enough to keep everyone busy for atleast 6 months with PvE, shards gathering, finishing questlines for skillpoints, doing PvP... These games are not created for the hardcore minorrity, because no matter what happens, they will leave quite soon, these games are created for overwhelming casual majorrity of the community
Sadly game forums only reflect the opinion of the very loud minorrity
But be asured, as the console game releases in June, it will be available before the release of those...

Probably about $5. That's assuming that when the game switches business models they decide to price it out by zone like LoTRO. They may end up pricing it out by item tier access or something else, making all the zones free.
Thankfully the game is not launching with that system, so it's not something we'll have to worry about for a year or two.

No sorry not buying that BS.
This is correct, however, as far it's been announced, the cash shop so far is not selling anything that one couldn't get by buying the special edition.
That's incorrect, it hasn't been pulled, it's been delayed. This often happens just before launch, especially with endgame PvE content. (for whatever reason it always seems to be the first thing that gets pushed).
Yes, it'll be part of an update. This is common to AAA MMO launches, especially ones with a sub-model. Unlike F2P games like Neverwinter, where every content update needs to be bought, sub-based games like EVE, Rift, EQ2, etc. usually provide these updates free.
Anything can happen, but the likelyhood of having to pay for such updates while the game is still on a sub-model is EXTREMELY low. If there was a way to safely bet money online, I'd gladly take you up on your $5 bet and up it to $100. I'm sure there are some morons out there in tinfoil hats that are expecting another NGE within a week of launch, but the odds of it happening are negligible.

Agreed, 6 months is a HUGE stretch.
Yeah, that's extremely subjective. The stuff that is in-game can keep some people busy for YEARS. Others will get through it in 2-4 weeks just like almost every other MMO. Thankfully this is a monthly sub game, if you run out of stuff to do after a month, you can stop paying until they add more stuff in.
It's not marriage, it's just a game.

power gamers will always plow through content then complain that they are bored after a month or two.
i think he meant for the average gamer and if so maybe not 6 months but 2-4 at least i would say.
especially if you try and get all the skyshards you can and max out a crafting skill or two.
I think his opinion is tempered by the reality of the past several AAA MMOs that had added cash shops - that most of them limit those cash shops to appearance and convenience items like mounts and specials armor styles. While your opinion seems to be based on nothing other than paranoia. But prove me wrong, name one AAA sub-based MMO released in the past 5 years that put its first major update into the cash shop rather than releasing it free to subscribers.

could you imagine if they did charge people extra for end game content they said would be in game at launch? lol
nevermind the cash shop paranoia, that would be a doomsday scenario for ESO and many of their players that were interested in PVE end game.
i'm just being realistic here, it isn't going to happen.
You know I am pretty rose colored glasses about this game, but the problem is a great deal of the lower level content has game stopping bugs. Stuff that down right prevents you from moving forward. I don't see the less tested higher level content being any better a launch. Just not going to happen.
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I expect train wreck status with this game for weeks if not months to come.
I'm not uptodate about adventure zones, so i may be wrong here. But as far as i know
-adventure zones where announced as a launch feature
-adventure zones got pulled from launch
-an adventure zone is now announced as a first major content update?
This sounds to me like the typically post-launch update that contains the things that weren't ready on launch day. I wonder how anyone can still cheer on this like "see, it's just post launch and they are already putting out the big updates! bestest company EVER1"
I'm not refering to anyone posting in this thread, but you get the point and you'll see it happen once we get closer to the release of the "content update".
The problem is a lot of people aren't going to want to quest endlessly once they hit max level, which is pretty much what 50+ and 50++ content is. I sure as hell do, but I know most people probably won't.
