in search of a hard/demanding mmo

kamyar73kamyar73 Member Posts: 5

hey guys

so as the title says i'm looking for a really hard and demanding mmorpg

i am  willing to pay the subscription fee

these are the general things that i expect from the game

****a hard hard game

** lots of raids (hard long raids with big bosses)

**lots of hard dungeons (dungeon crawling)

**old school elements

**hardcore guilds

**nearly impossible to play solo (need of playing in groups)

**holy trinity

**a big big world

**hard to finish

**demanding / complex  battle system

**focused on PVE (not really intrested in PVP)

**time consuming bet not for farming but because the game is simply difficult

these are some not so important things that i would love too see in the game

*good , frendliy & active community

*fell the need to play side quests

*frequent updates

*lots of levels

*fixed classes

although i didn't find a game that would fit my needs here is a list of games that I found intrseting

which one of these you think i should try?

*FF:ARR

*EVE

*Tera (i know its not hard to play by any means)

*Willstar

*trikester online

*ever quest 2

*D&D online

Non of the game on your list match your description, sorry. EVE Online probably the closest, but that probably because of you getting shot or rob by other player (PvP) while you go out do PvE missions.

Outside MMORPG, I would recommend Dark Soul 1+2.

If you want to go old school, outside MMORPG, try Megaman series, especially the one on NES.

You could try the old Everquest on one of the new old system server Fippy Darkpaw or something I think it was called the server I mean. Time locked progression server and they may be releasing a classic server too soon in Everquest well it was an idea not sure if they will.

i have already played everquest 1 and i really liked it but the graphics are way too old for my taste

thats why i put everquest2 in my list

Final fantasy XI fits almost perfectly but the graphics are outdated, that's the only game I can think of. Guild Wars one kinda fits that but there are no raids but the trinity kinda exists depending on builds.

    ok thanks any way

    what about ff:arr

i know that it's not hard but i heard its has lots of  classic mmo elements

do any of you guys recomend it as a must play for a final fantesy / rpg fan?

D&D Online is probably the hardest on that list.  Find a build that can solo and see how far you can take it.

I think A Realm Reborn has had the most "Hey, this feels like an MMO is supposed to" feel to it over any other game I have played recently. And I enjoyed the crafting in it.

Rift isn't really difficult, but your hotbar fills up with lots of powers pretty quickly.  I never raided in Rifts, though.

The Secret World has a very elitist end game, so I assume that means it is rather demanding.  I never got into raiding in that title, either, though, but even the group content seemed fairly tough in a pug.  That game has really jarringly bad animations though.

I really enjoy FF:ARR it's a solid MMO its got plenty to do some content is challenging, crafting / gathering are really well done. Not much old school elements that I know of, the community is great seems most of the XI players migrated to it. In terms of leveling it's really solo friendly with some dungeons that you have to do to progress the story line. The battle system isn't too complext it's like WoW and Aion merged combat systems with slower GCD.

i really really enjoyed playing FFXI

it was one of the best mmos and one of the better final fantasys i've  played

now that you said it i find myself willing to play it again

but is there any good players/community left or did they all  migrated to other mmorpgs?
