Do you prefer making a male or female character in an MMO?

That's my gameplan too.  I will either make a giant male character using the biggest body model available (and angry looking ones at that) or a relatively unassuming but attractive (well what other kinds of characters are there in MMOs?) female.  I'm a big comic book fan so I usually have at least one "big guy".

I usually look at both models for the race I am picking and then just go with what looks better / less silly.

Also.. in PvP games size matters. Even if the hitboxes are the same. Just in terms of being seen and targeted first, etc. Female chars are often smaller.

Don't really see deeper meaning in it. Just like I have no problems rollin a fat little dwarf with a beer belly, a tall lisping lizard guy or a genderless robot from outer space either.

I can't sight a single female gamer who plays male characters and when I have asked about this in the past they have almost all responded that it wouldn't feel right where I know a number of male players who don't have a issue with it.  I think it really boils down to how males and females look at their characters on average.
Did you miss my post earlier in this same thread? Lol. Female gamer who often plays male characters here, and I do consider my avatar as an extension of my personality. But certainly there are all kinds of dumb stereotypes. The kind of woman who would be prejudiced against a man playing a female character is probably also the kind would be prejudiced against a man having long hair and an earring; a prejudice that was already stupid 3 decades ago, but some people just never catch up with reality.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.
