I am so pissed off. My old computer fried out on me and because I'm kinda strapped for money right now I thought "ok I can just rent a decent computer from Aarons or rent a center or wherever and get by until I can afford to build a decent rig.
WrOnG ! .. On so many levels..................................................
What I have here after waiting for like 10 days + from Aarons rentals, simply because I already have an existing account for my ridiculously overpriced TV. Is A stupidly retarded AMD E1-1500 HP Desktop? WTF?
This piece of shit computer seems to have been shipped from India? Went on the HP site and thought" Hmmm these pieces of shit are gonna try to sell me a cheap computer from HP that is only worth like $200 dollars max and over time try to get $1,000 or more over 2 years? WTF?
I was Wrong on so many levels.....
In reality they ordered some crappy ass shit from their warehouse in India or some fucked up where, and from what I can gather this computer has been discontinued for like $150 dollars? It's a fuckin old laptop cpu in a desktop and they want 90 something dollars a month for this piece of crap?
I nervously removed the side panel and much to my horror I saw a tiny motherboard like 6" x 6" and didn't even see a cpu or any expansion slots whatsoever. Not even a pci express slot for Christ's sake. I didn't even know this lame ass technology even existed thanks to Windows 8 Bill Gates retarded technology. WTF?
And it Has a 64 bit OS? Why ? 64 times nothing is still nothing! OMG I am so pissed.
Why on god's green earth would any company in their right mind even attempt to market such a lame ass product?
I am probably gonna get arrested tomorrow morning after workin 12 hrs tonight cause I'm gonna get up bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning and haul my cranky ass out there to their store and slam them like there's no tomorrow. Im taking My lame assed tv with me and tell them to shove them all up their ass sideways.
This is just unacceptable on so many levels. My only regret is that I don't have a shotgun to take with me and blow many holes in their funkin roof.
Thanks for reading as I feel much better now that I have got this heavy burden off my chest
Any advice would be appreciated!

Congratulations, you've figured out the rent-to-own business model.
Wow, you should have never touched that in the first place, sorry, bro.
Google stuff like "Aaron's laptop webcam".
Unless you are a toaster I'd stay away from those outfits. And I'd still put the toaster into a lead-lined box when I'm not using it.
And this is why I keep my old PCs or the parts of it. I always have a backup if something breaks.
The other side is: You've got money to rent a PC for $90/month... Hell, if I had the problem you had when your PC crashed, I would have got myself a damn good rig and financed it over a year. One year of financing is on the edge for PCs, but still acceptable. My first self-built PC cost me $900 and I financed it over 6 months. I paid around $940 with interest included. Was an okayish deal back then and I had a very good machine. You just have to control yourself, so you don't end up with paying 50 different things eating up your whole income. One bigger thing bought now and then and financed on a short timeframe is totally okay.
Bingo.
Rent to Own is a sham, no matter what company it is. Their stuff is total crap, and by the time you're done, you'll have paid 3 times the price you'd pay for something good.
I'm glad you've seen the light, OP. It took me through most of my 20's to get the picture myself, though in my case it was maxxing out credit cards. It took some hard lessons and hard living to get out from under all my stupidity.
IMO, you should take it one step further. Take all the stuff you've rented to own back to them. Doesn't matter if you're halfway through the payments or even most of the way; take it back. One of the main reasons you're strapped for cash is you've been choosing to buy stuff you don't need AT ANY COST.
Next, subscribe to the Dave Ramsey podcast(or listen to his show on AM radio if you no longer have a computer), and listen to every word he says.
Debt destroys you. Not just financially, but psychologically, as well. Take that crap back to Aarons and I bet the second you leave the place you'll feel better. Don't do it to punish yourself, do it to FREE yourself.
you should have learned from the TV
fool me once shame on you
fool me twice shame on me
seriously though that whole industry is a joke.
The entire rent to own industry is a predatory disease that has managed to keep it self exempt from any of the truth in lending laws that have been imposed on other lenders over the years that require them to show you to total cost of the loan. If they had to show you a piece of paper when you signed up that showed just how much you where paying over time for these things one would hope their customer base would just disappear. One would hope anyways.
You are far better off trying to get one of those zero payments for 12 months deals on a Computer from a big box store or web site if you can even if you have to work on upgrading it's video card. If you can't I'm afraid your best bet might be to just go without for a few months and put that $90 a month your saving up in a account to either fix your old machine or buy a new one.
RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and Paul Gray.
This is the funniest thing I will read all day.
Make a youtube vid.. call them out hard.
Don't stand for that shit.
I used to run a market of rent to own stores and it's almost criminal what they make/charge. Minimum is 4.5X cost of merchandise. So a 500 tv ends up costing $2250 and it's usually all lower end product.
That being said, you know what you are getting into when you sign up, they, by law have to show you total cost of the item...so, signing the rental agreement then getting mad later is a crybaby move. People need to understand the world doesn't owe you anything, if you put yourself at the mercy of a bottom feeding company you get what you get, if you make yourself a success you will have the ability to purchase exactly what you want and not settle.
Rent-to-own businesses are generally predatory scum. Of course, there's a lot of that type of predation in business, because the business model works. Avoid if possible.
I remember hearing a great hip hop song ages ago that was really giving the rent-to-own scam a working over. "Don't buy their line, if you can't pay on time!"
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
