Looking forward to when the game goes free Even if I have to pay box price. Of course not a game that's worth a monthly cost. My monthly fee will be elsewhere but I'll certainly be on this when it goes FTP
I can see no excuse to charge as much as you do for a digital-only download with an Extra $20 to play the entire game at launch AND have a store .... there is no excuse for a store, if you pay a subscription, vanity pets (now) and things like magical rezzes and rare ingredients (later) should be included. A monthly fee should be plenty to cover maintaining the game. A store will be what that vice-president will run to when sales are not "up" .... and it is the nature of the business that sales never really go up after launch.
Obviously you intend to be greedy and unfair, so throwing away over $200 on a game that in a year will be inventing time sinks that force players to spend even more real money to make the game fun enough to be playable is rather stupid.
I've loved MMORPGs for many years, stated with EQ and played most of the high-end games since, often with 2-3 accounts at once, but the MMORPG is dead, everything is pay to win..no player devs, just suits with their hands in your pockets.
It's a shame, you get the feeling these days that the devs aren't even players and don't give a damn or they would have too much pride to rip people off this way.
Please, as a sub player who likes to spend some cash in cash shops, put some vanity gear and pets in there soon! No one really cares who really is a sub player. I think a lot of free to play people are jealous of us sub payers and don't want us to have the benefits of a cash shop unless its free to play only.
It just makes more sense to go to the starter isles and have the first guy you talk to offer you the option to ski[ right to the main city.
Smells like they made the change to bypass the islands and simply don't want to switch it because moving the island quest giver is easier than redoing it again. Poor choice.
