If you plan to play the Elder Scrolls Online, how do you plan to use Addons with the game?
In addition, what choice reflects your feelings in general about the use of addons?
Please leave a comment about why you answered the way you did.

I voted for endgame. I often play to cap without any addon's but I find myself loading up a parser often at end game to help me get better. I only do this after I've experienced the game and usually it's because my friends and I are about to go up against challenging content for progression.
I can take it or leave it. Even in raids, everyone usually has a job to do, and if the raid fails, it's pretty easy to see where it failed. Besides, there aren't usually any add ons to see what the tank is doing (they have things to do too), so measuring only the dps or heals leads to a lopsided view of how the group is actually performing. Instead of performance management, it becomes competition. In other words, "E-Peen" meters, not performance meters.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
So far i like the minimalistic UI, it really immerses me intoo the game...
There is one thing missing in the combat part of the interface and that is the option to see selfbuffs in the standard UI, i am pretty sure they will allow us to see this over time.... temporary selfbuffs, so i can recast them if they are gone..
Other mods i think i would use, would be related to stuff like the windows, i would love to see an inventory mod based on icons, much more like the stuff we know from other MMO´s..
In the end, mods can mean a lot for changing the looks of the interface, aslong as they can not present information not available trough the standard interface, i am very happy with mods...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I voted yes. I will be using add-ons. The UI is very limited.
This was there choice.ZOS went for a minimalist UI. I like a bit more info.
I may have been able to design a better poll but I really want to know more than yes or no. I have friends who would love an auction house addon, but never load up a dps meter. Since the debate has been addon's which provide unfair advantage, I wanted to supply a range of choices which reflected the possible thought process behind the choice.
As I struggle with the UI, I'll probably look for a few add-ons to smooth things out for game play reasons, not to try and gain any competitive edge.

I use add-on's to personalize my HUD display and improve things like bag sorting, quest journal presentation or "better" crafting windows.
I've never used a DPS parser or combat analyzer or anything that prompts me to move or cast. BUT I'm not much of a raider, so these things have never been "mandatory" to the success of my play.

Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
I choose the second one, so for convenience. I will load any speech buble addon, if there is one, form the very beggining. otherwise just some dps meter and some healing tracker, to be aware of situations a tad better.
And by the way, all this talk how poll is bad, i like it. If it were a simple yes or no, then i would have to say yes, cuz i will be using some convenience mods. But then it would seem like i want this overly intrusive addons, which i dont. That would make this poll completly useless.
Add-ons are a crutch, never liked em, never will.
The game releases the way it does for a reason, add-ons are just "minor-hacks".
The only add-on I have ever liked is the one that shows how much damage you do/healing you do in a dungeon/PvP match, not because I want to talk trash on people who don't "do enough", but because I like to see what I do.
Add-ons breed a level of elitism that is toxic to games, and if I want to play a game, I don't want to be shunned because "You don't have these 9 add-ons? WTF ARE YOU DOING? You are an effing noob."
Sorry, but some of us have enough skill to play games without some alarm telling us we are getting too much aggro, or that PvP-Player A is a healer and the add-on will auto-target them for us.
Hell, why not just make an add-on that plays the game for you?

I want an inverntory screen modification not an addon is this feasible?
I see add-ons more like stabilizers you put on a persons bike so they can ride. There the arm bands you put on people who struggle to swim.
Unfortunately, most players don't stop using these add-ons/aids and keep using them for a competitive advantage.
I find it funny people regard these types of players as "l33t". Gamers who play with arm bands/stabilizers.
That's only regarding mods/add-ons that give a competitive edge in combat.
All I really need is to be able to see my buffs and debuffs with timers. right now the only way to see them is to open your character sheet, which is stupid in combat when you really need to see them.
Anything else I get is for convenience.
I'll probably browse for interesting sounding addons but its not a necessity.
Didnt use any addons in any of the beta weekends myself or feel I was missing out
Thanks. I wanted to separate the answers from people who like non combat/minor addons from the people who want a competitive edge and a way to judge player performance, but you can still see how the recent API changes affect people who have voted.

In case you missed it, there is only 1 "No" answer, and one "Take it or leave it". I only asked people who answered yes to categorize their answer on what best fit their reasoning. For these answers there's a spread as to their thoughts and motivations. Though not every possible answer is covered, I think it's a good representation of some of the feelings from the controversy of the recent API changes. Enough to at least get a feel.
If you feel your reasons aren't represented, please share why you don't fall into one of those categories.
At this point in the poll it really looks like the people who really want a competitive edge either don't want to admit it, or they are a vocal minority.
WTF man "I prefer to never load an addon. Everyone should use the basic UI" ???
I prefer to never load an addon. -> Ok nice
Everyone should use the basic UI. -> Wtf man ?!?
I prefer to never load an addon.I love to kick puppies, wasn't biased enough for you ?
So what are you actually saying here? Oh, and you just joined last week, so cute..
Mainly the first option with a little of the third aswell.
