All the PvE players will move on and the only players left will be the PvP players - becase ESO is mostly a mass PvP game.

    No.  No.

PvP guilds will move on when the next big sandbox is announced and released.

ESO is a PvE game.  However, no, it does not force you to PvE in order to be successful in PvP.

No, PvE players will likely stick around until the next WoW killer is announced and released.

The player community will be closer to LoTRO when all is said and done.

PvP players would only stick around if this were a sandbox.  We are in the land of casuals.

Daggerfall Covenant will host the most feared PvPers on any title i could come up with. KoS from Dark Age of Camelot... Sinister,  UDL, Lords of Death and many other zerg coming from Darkfall Online. Guilds that made their mark in every big pvp titles Like Shadow Bain, Asherons's Call, UO.

Here i am not saying there are no good clans on the other factions, but I like to think the Veterans will show up and teach the younger generation how pvp is meant to be done.

I have heard of all these guilds.  PvP should be very fun.

Oh, please. The hardcore pvp guilds will rush through the raid content and then stomp you in gear that's far better than yours. By the time they crown their first emperor, the masses won't even be lvl 50 yet.

In AAA themepark MMO's with both PVE and PVP, it's the PVP that dies years before the PVE. You have an example that says otherwise ?

Many of the PVP guilds will probably shift focus to Archeage and it's FFA zones once that game releases in the west later this year.

Yes... They will rush trough content....

and have the best gear, just to find out that they are missing 120 out of the 300 skillpoints...which require them to go back to all the old zomes which have no challenge at all, just to find those missing skillpoints they need for their power setup..

Anyway the last time I was that hyped for a game was for darkfall 1.0. This time around I am convinced this is going to be a huge hit.

    Seriously?

For some reason you seem to hold the view that hardcore pvpers are pretty "dumb" for lack of a better word. You really think people who enjoy crushing their opposition do not have the skyshard location maps bookmarked?

If I were you, I'd keep my in game name, faction, and campaign secret. Otherwise, all those clearly not too bright, skillpoint deprived hardcore pvpers may decide to kill you over and over just for giggles.

    Sad face :(

I remember when people played games to just have some fun, not to prove their internet manhood was impressive.

I guess times have changed and instead of kids with £200 cars playing crap music on £400 stereo's they installed into the cars while parks outside the nightclubs they cannot get into because they can't afford the £10 entry fee has simply changed to trying to impress on the web!

    Go teenage hormones!

Just as much skillpoints come from completing questcontent as from findinding skyshards..

And when new PvE content gets added with even more skilltrees and skillpoints and shards.... they will start complaining very very loud....

And somehow your name fits you very well. (grins)

You mean those "elite" pvp guilds that win 1 battle and then move to the next best thing ?
Yes i seen those !!! they make alot of noise !!! win a few battles !!! and boom they disapear never to be seen again and brag on each and every forum how they beaten the best of the best out there !!!! without their oponents given a chase to make it even !

I have seen waht those "elite" guilds are about in GW2, zerg zerg zerg and brag.....oh they can brag as no other !
Sorry lad i am not impressed by these guys.

I am impressed by Hosted games like SC2 / LoL / WoW Arena / even if it aint my cup of thee, its much more skilled based then any WvW/AvA mmo.
Specialy not those super big guilds crushing randoms with no teamspeak and then post vids how pro they are :)

Curious to see how they will fare against some of the Dominion guilds, heared not much about them, but ive seen them in the shadows, whispering, planning, plotting, forging weapons.

War is comming ! God Wills It !!

I played DC during the betas and we were pretty much the underdog, I still plan on playing for DC, nice to hear more PVP guilds also playing on DC, that will show Dominion.

Well if you insist in killing me together with your Bully friends (not you BC) you can find me on the EU servers, Daggerfall for roleplay reasons, under the name of " Bachus the Bard"  ( if people can refrain from stealing that name) ...

i will be waiting for your kind, can you imagine the shame if you loose to just a silly roleplayer?

If you have watched a league of legends tournament or even a dota tournament and think that is somehow more skilled than a DAOC 8v8 match it's not much different. In fact the team fight strategies are almost exactly the same...

Take a look back at the good ol day of DAOC pvp on the classic servers - Gareth / Lamorak / etc - you will find plenty of high skill pvp groups, especially Brute Force and Telusoff, that dominated the servers for years.

Before that in AC1 there was a small group of guys who held the tusker island from blood, who were also responsible for both of the largest internal chain breaks in blood history, they were called The Dark Knights, swore under Doomgaze or Choo Choo Train. They also had some pretty bad ass effects on the DAOC classic scene and Mordred before that. We're all a bunch of old foggies now, but we'll be making an appearance.

In DAOC we didn't do 8v8 we did 8vX, here are a few of our TERRIBLE quality videos that show it:

Good riddance, people.... do you REALLY have to attack the OP like this?

I can not stay whether or not that claim is true. But ... is it possible to argue about this without personal attacks? Just an idea...

So many hyped MMOs failed in the last couples years but this time tho I think there is something special about this game.It is the type of games that so many guilds were waiting for. Is this game the best game ever created? No... Is this game going to retain the amount of players that were there at launch? Probably not. I agree they have made marketing mistakes but at the end of the day they came up with something new and fresh within the mmo industry. A lot of people are starting to realize this game will not go free to play and it will not fail. Big guilds and alliances, they come, they go but trust me this game is likely to be number 1 pvp title for a long time and archage Release wont affect much.

If they keep listening to the community like they have been doing thus far, this will be the next DAoC.

  • WaddyWaddy Member Posts: 35
After looking through the abilities and playing a little in the beta, I have 0 hope this game will replace DAOC as the new best of all time for RvR. This is going to be more like GW2, skills seem like they're going to be long cool down and do low damage... If you don't have spammable spells and large amounts of damage possible in AOE you wont have bomb groups and casters are more than likely going to lose horribly to melees due to just raw auto attacks being the majority of the dps, I'd love to see more but the beta was so limited and there really isn't much else to go on but a skill calculator.

Yeeeeah, not to sound like a troll, but after the addition of the cash shop and that they'll be adding vanity pets, and god knows what else, my money's defenatly on a conversion to free eventually.

Honestly, while i love pvp and would hope RVR just gets better, i don't think Zenimax will focus on it as the source of future development. Publishers and devs of mainstream titles tend to go after the solo, casual, pve player. Cyrodiil could use quite alot of improvements already, like side objectives, connection to crafting, anything.

But unfortunatly, i don't have much faith they'll be focusing on it. If i'm proven wrong, than happy day.
