its not the first character, they can only be obtained on one character BUT most can be sent to your other toons. Honestly i say it in bold ass letters that "You only get one per account" in the mail...if you claim them without at least skimming over the note then its your own damned fault.

Exactly....
The sense of entitlement and rage by some is laughable.
I warned people about it in another thread. During beta they did the same thing. It was the third beta so I had long deleted my first character. I think I remember reading that mud crabs and such would be given out on the 4th. Also, when I played other MMO's each character got a gift and it didn't destroy the game or economy.

Nice job OP - you got the masses in a frenzy based on misinformation. You can use the items on all your characters just pop whatever you want in the bank and there you go - every character has access.
Except that completely retarded, amateurish (in 2014!) move to ONLY have first character receive bonuses from preorder/imperial edition.
No warning whatsoever at the release (the message you get now doesn't count, at least for me).
They better fcking set up a retreival one day in the VERY NEAR future, because I'm having that stuff back.
That's not true, items can be transferred.
Having the bonus for each new character would be idiotic as you would have an infinite amount of them via rerolls.
Try reading the entire in game "Bonus Mail" next time, it was pretty clear.
Every mmorpg I've played where I gained some CE or preorder stuff let me claim them for every new character, there's nothing idiotic about that, it's how it should be.
Why the hell is it idiotic in your opinion anyway? It does not matter even if you reroll thousands characters because these extra items cannot be sold to vendors so there's no possible exploit for ingame gold or whatever you are assuming here.
So you believe that because some other companies have done this that way THAT ALL OTHER COMPANIES MUST DO IT THE SAME WAY? DERP.

That is not his issue though. He is talking about deleting the character and losing items that is before you stored them in bank for transfer. There was no in game warning for that. The warning came on patcher quite later on.
I guess this is like the test from grade school. The one that tells you to not take the test if you read everything first. There are always a bunch of people taking the silly test because they didn't follow directions. I will just sit back and laugh at those who screwed themselves and want to blame someone else for their mistake. Because there is no way they could ever make a mistake. It's not my fault. LoL.

Like you maybe didn't read the thread? Apparently the warning was not there until they discovered the problem. I can't verify that but if it is true then you maybe look like you kept writing that test?

Its true.
I logged in the moment servers came up and there was no warning on the patcher. I opened email to get bonus stuff no warning there either. However, i got lucky because i really liked my first character so i didn't delete it.
The warnings on patcher and in game came quite later on.
So... why exactly couldn't you get a bound to character version of all of these items on every character?
They really think we should be mailing these items around to alts every time we play a different character for a bit? That's honestly their solution? What is this, the 20th century?
I thought it was bad enough when they brought out the imperial race and any race any faction bonuses- but this is the most absurd crap I've ever heard of- and from a pay to play mmo to top it off; but I guess that strong defense force for this sort of unnecessary behaviour is exactly what Zenimax was counting on. This is worse than Actiblizzard- staying far from this train wreck.

I don't think it is, I think it's rather realistic TBH... It's an odd move one that could cause some avoidable headaches, for both players and CS. As for warnings devs know more than anyone here, that players often skip those types of things without even glancing at them. It's a hassle really IMO, one that has no apparent benefit one way or the other. To me that says there's little sense behind such a decision.

Speaking of misinformation, it WAS on the in game mail.

Sorry it wasn't. I read the email there was no warning. That is why i was surprised to see the message on patcher.
@Shingetsu... This issue has nothing to do with the imperial edition. It's the explorer pack items that for some stupid reason get mailed only to one char.

//My_nick.
No. My Imperial edition items have the exact same problem.
Didn't even know you had these items only one time, and in fact - didn't even have the time to check the inventory since I re-did my first character on sight to perfect his appearance. Damn, I'm so pissed right now...hating on Zenimax for such bullsh*t. Even TERA / GW2 had this "global" system, where each new reroll got the starting items from your collector purchase.
WELL
I would open a ticket with their support and explain what happened (in case you actually deleted that toon with everything on it)
AND if they will not return the items - you know where you stand, and you can stop buying from them, demand for a refund and join everyone in WildStar
Customer service can't save Wildstar for me! Glad you like it, but I just couldn't get into it at all.

I love the limited number of CE items in game, it adds to their uniqueness... having them on every character adds to the inflation of item in question.
I think its good to do things differently every now and then and it works here.
What comes ppl losing them, thats unfortunate and hopefully maybe issued again to them.

Where have all the "good" shills gone?
Where have you all been the last few weeks....
They said you can transfer all of your pre order items and CE items to any alts you want.
If you delete them accidenlly they said to contact customer service and they will reissue them to you!!!!
Wow people, lets show some restraint a little and figure out whats going on first, it makes you look the fool when you don't.
HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR ITEMS:
Go to bank, put your CE items into it.... Its shared with your alts, and then claim it on your alt you want to use it on.
HOW TO GET YOUR DELTED ITEMS BACK:
tell customer service you deleted them, they will reissue them like they said weeks ago

As long as you have not taken them from the mail you are fine. . if you hvae and deleted that toon before banking contact CS to get them back.
If you can transfer them I am not sure why each character would not just get them. . . not a deal breaker for me.
