I have been enjoying my 3-day "early-access" so far.
I'm just surprised that the NA server was shut down
for maintenance with no hint of the time frame involved.
I think I would have preferred a "fixed" time-frame
over "we will let you know". No biggie. Just my 2-cents worth!

I'm not sure by any means but it seems like your actual account info are mixed up or something is messed up for you because your error message is different than the standard when the server is down.
I haven't tried to login during maintenance, but outside maintenance it just says my login or password is incorrect please try again. And Zenimax have told they don't know what to do. I am fucked, and even though I cannot play the headstart, I fear I may not be able to play at launch either.
So you got an actual code from your retailer and applied it to an account? Did you apply to your existing beta accound? (if you had one) or did you create another?
When do we as a community realize that this is just another method of "pay to beta", and as such it's absolutely idiotic to complain if it's broken.
a. Stop paying for betas. Demand quality. Receive quality.
b. Pay to beta. Ignore quality. Complain.
Your call, your responsibility. Oh and thanks for ruining the genre for the rest of us.

I had a beta account, but got it deleted to create a brand new (I did this with customer support, not because of hacking etc. but because of password difficulties.)
In short, it is on a brand new account. I have applied the key to my acc.
You can see my issue here.
Zenimax support has not been very helpful for me either.
First, I contacted them about the physical computer CE edition of the game when it was sold out in 1 day asking if there was a way for me to buy it, or if I'd be able to buy the XBOX1 or PS4 versions of the game and still use the account details to log-in on the PC since, being in the military prevented me from obtaining the game through a box-store: no response. Then I contacted them when my early access code was not working 3x over the course of a week and it wasn't until the 3rd time before they got back to me. Apparently, someone else was given the same code and they gave me the "its not our fault, although we know someone has redeemed the code" which made me have to wait 2 weeks to get Amazon to finally give me the proper code.

Wait what!? You mean online games are actually launching with bugs, server issues, balancing issues, etc that need to be fixed through patches? PATCHES AND MAINTENANCE! Omg when the hell did this start happening. I remember the good old days when MMOs launched in 100% complete condition requiring no patching & bug fixing EVER and servers were up 100% of the time, nobody ever crashed, and everything worked perfectly! What has gone wrong with this genre! Why can't we have the old way back.
Maybe we should all go back to single player games. They never had bugs or glitches of any type. Always 100% complete and polished. Oh wait... they have patches and stuff for those now too. Man, why cant we go back to the old days of NES games that didn't have any bugs or glitches whatsoever?
Better yet why can't games be just like every other piece of software ever created in history. 100% bug & glitch free. Oh wait...
You bought the game from Amazon and expected Zenimax to fix your problem.
Why didn't you contact Amazon to tell them your code wasn't working?
