Soul shards? How do they work ? where do I buy them ? How do I fill them and is there any uses beyond using them to rez myself and recharge weapons, Thanks in advance....
There is a vendor on every area that sells them, though the are expensive. It's usually the same vendor that increases your inventory space. They seem to drop off mobs and there is at least one skill line that gives the chance to give one (templar healing line when rezzing people).
I haven't found any other usage other than the two you mentioned so far.
As for how to charge one, look at your skill trees, under World. You should have one called Soul Magic. There are some active and passive skills there related to soul shards.

Soul Shards are used to recharge enchantments on equipment and to resurrect yourself or allies when they die. They are lvl based, and only work on items or players that fall within the gems' lvl range.
You can buy soul gems at general merchants in towns. They also drop frequently from bosses, but you will also find empty gems as random drops. You fill gems using the 'Soul Trap' skill in the world skill line. This ability acts as a magicka-based DoT that fills gems if you kill the target while the DoT is still on him. You can also upgrade this ability to fill multiple gems at one.
Ok I think I understand now ty very much, So basically I need to take a look at my "world" tab under skills and invest a point or 2 in order to gain the soul gem recharging ability.. Is this going to take up a spot on my "5slot" hot bar ?

The upgrades for soul trap are kinda underwhelming to be honest, if you have the ability slotted it will rank up. By completing parts of the main quest the overall world ability will gain levels.
Its quite easy to fill them, just cast the spell, have an empty soul gem in your inventory, kill the monster before the spell wears off and it gets filled. You dont really need any of the upgrades for the spell to do what it was intended to do.

But that spell takes up 1 of 5 slots on your hot bar , correct?

That kind of sucks
Yes you do. But its a very situational ability that is basically useless when fighting anything above trash mobs anyways. So I have it slotted when I actively have gems I want to fill. You can kill 10 mobs in a couple of minutes on this game, thats usually sufficient for me to get it done. Then remove the ability and go on as normal. Its not as bad as it sounds.

Dungeon bosses drop one every time. It is worth a few minutes of farming your local solo-content dungeon to stock up on them.
