This is one of the better launches and I've been in most big MMOs during early access or at release. The ONLY game I think that had a better launch was Rift and even that wasn't perfect. For true fail, take a look at  AoC, WoW, VG, FFXIV (not ARR), or Aion.

    1. Mail was disabled for most of the early access.

    2. All the guild functions were disabled today, including chat. It was like you did not have a guild.

    3. Broken quests, there are still a lot of them and the old bug from beta is still here but they did find a way to limit it by reducing the number of people that can be there, but if you are unlucky and most of  the people in your area do the same quest as you it will bug out. Relogging usually fixes it as you will be placed in another instance with different people.

    4. Down times, the server has been down for 4+ hours now, past their estimations.

To be honest i regret i got it now and i did not wait... i was a bit fooled by the fact that when the 5 day early access people got in they said everything is working fine. Or maybe the problems only started when the 3 day early access started.... either way i`m considering either getting a refund or just keep it but quit and try to come back in 6 months.

I live in the EU so as long as i make up my mind withing 14 days i can always get a refund.(as far as i know, i never had to ask for one before)

EDIT: While i was writing the post the server came back with the guild functionality restored. Or so the message says... i`m unable to log in i guess their log in servers are at capacity.

EDIT2: Still unable to log in, i`ll just stop trying and go sleep... we`ll see how i feel about asking for that refund in the morning.

You really don't research stuff do you? When you couldn't log-in on the EU server did you stop and think, "hmm maybe I should check the official forums as to why that is?" They brought down the EU server to apply the massive patch upgrade to version 1.0.1 that they implemented on the NA server from 1 am 4/2 until almost 3pm EST. All the problems you're complaining about were fixed in the patch, guild functions are back on as well, but the mail is still down. But obviously it's down for a good reason, they wouldn't just do that to piss people off. Damn people are so quick to demand refunds, mmorpgs do early access nowadays because it helps them root out some more problems before official launch.

Umm...no. This is one major problem that the devs acted quickly to fix. They also fixed a bunch of other things while they were at it. I was just on, everything was running great. Vanguard was a mess. Hell, WoW was broken for weeks and don't get me started on SWG or Anarchy Line.

Vanguard didn't run well cause of the end users hardware was to low. As soon as a few years and upgrades people got 50fps.  Vanguard didn't suffer from security issues, exploiting and duping.

I stand by my comment, this is worse the Vanguard and it will  get worse when they switch focus to the consoles.

You are a liar if you say Vanguard's launch was better.

I feel bad for feeding the trolls honestly, but how quickly do people forget about this HUGE security problem that affected all SOE games, including Vanguard?  http://www.gamespot.com/articles/soe-accounts-credit-card-info-compromised/1100-6311008/

Also Vanguard didn't run well because Brad McQuaid picked a hacked up Unreal 2.x engine which was never proven for a MMORPG.  The game's engine issues plagued the game for over 2 years after launch.  No amount of hardware could've fixed these engine issues that were at the core.  I know Vanguard very well, beta and played it hardcore, I was a fanboy that did VG news on IGN.  To suggest this game is worse than Vanguard is just rubbish.

Vanguard is in a league of its own.  It belongs to a section of the book with the title "How not to develop a game if you don't want your company to go bankrupt".

Wait what? I've seen some dandy responses around here, but this, this is gold.

Maybe, but that doesn't make your comment any less ridiculous.

I've been playing MMOs since forever (I played Neverwinter Nights way back on AOL lol).  This has been one of the best launches ever.  They never go 100% smooth, never.  Even EQ had some problems when it launched way back,  UO had disconnect problems at launch.

Best MMO Launches of all time:  (imho)

    1) Rift

    2) FFXI

    3) ESO

That's pretty good if you ask me :)

Two claims made interchangeably by the fans here:

-Claiming this is a smooth launch when the launch date with the bulk of the players has not arrived = asinine.

-Claiming this is not the official launch so do not worry =  asinine.

Notice that no matter what your legitimate complaint is they will simply spill some nonsense and claim everything is just dandy.

This is pure trolling. I was there during VG launch, took a few days off work but read instead because the game was unplayable even when the server was up.

Also, may I ask why are you camping ESO forums after you asked your money back? I suggest to move on as your relationship with ESO is over.

No the launch is even worse than any other mmo that I have tried in my whole life.

I have played most of the aa mmos at launch, and I have never before experiences that it was possible to have a broken account at launch. My account works on the website and not in game. This night zenimax replied to me that they did not know about this problem and don't know how to fix it :( money wasted.
