Addresses the issue of the dwelling population drop over the past few months.

Its certanly smart thing to do. Especially since they had the technology for it long time ago.

Playing on populated map and working together on objectives is core for GW2. So hopefully this will help this happen.

    'Bout time!

No more questions from players, asking why a heavily populated server is dead.

It is, of course, amusing how ArenaNet refuses to use the actual term Merge.  That's what it essentially is.  Megaserver ... teehee /tickle.

I applaud their efforts to keep familiar faces still seen though.  So it's not a cluster mash of instances, with random occupants (everyone unknown each logon).

This seems to be the trend though.  Cross realm instances help to mask the true population.

The notion of a "realm" is not necessarily good for fun (for many) anyway. For populated games, you don't have time to get to know everyone, and people join and leave games all the time.

So practically, removing the realm boundaries is probably not  a big deal for most people. They probably won't notice it if you don't tell them.

This is great news and a step in the right direction. No more misdirection from Anet on server population will be wonderful for new players coming and choosing the "wrong server" and end up on a dead one.

Kudos to Anet, they have been busy bees the first quarter this year and I'm looking forward to seeing all these improvements.

    Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV
    Have played: You name it

unless they have completely changed WvW you will still choose a home server.
