DWARFLESS in Tamreil

morg2625morg2625 Member UncommonPosts: 32

Just started downloading the game. I never  played any of the Elder scrolls or Skyrim stufff so I was a little suprised when I noticed in the character creation video on you tube that you can't make a Dwarf character. You can make 4 different kinds of elves, orcs, lizard men a few human types and even a cat man thingy. I'm a little broken hearted over this as I love playing dwarves.  I read somewhere that they where all killed, part of game lore or something.......

Sad, very sad.....

The game is absolutlely polluted with elves tho'  guess there;s no room for the wee folk.

Yes, dwarfs are all but extinct in the Elder Scrolls world.

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.

No halflings either. They don't like us shorties :(

It's the elves I bet. I never trusted those pointed-eared freaks.

The dwarven like race were the Dwemer.  They're actually just really short elves with beards according to lore.  Anyway, yep, no dwarf like races.

Yep there were dwarves once but the elves made them mate with cats for a long time, hence the Khajiit, and also with iguanas, hence the Argonians.  No actual dwarves left, just their bastardized descendants.

The Dwemer disappeared.  No one knows when or where or why.  They just left their technological wonders behind.

    Ok, that's just plain cruel. Stinkin' elves I can imagine it now;

" Ok Mr. dwarf, stick your wohoo in that kitty over there and I promise I'll lead you out of our enchanted forest"

    God I hate elves!!!!

Yep there is actually a lot of lore behind the disappearance of the Dwemer race and you explore that a good bit in Morrowind.  And technically there is 1 single dwarf left - Yagrum Bagarn

This is completely wrong, lol.  Where did you come up with this?

I hear it was just terrible and involved copious amounts of peanut butter.

Well I look forward to learning the lore. It looks like a fun game even with this dwarfless handicap

That half-machine mutant thing in the Telvanni Tower dungeon doesn't count.

In the Elder Scolls world, any race with "-mer" on the end is an elven race.  Even the orcs are an elven race.

Oh, my bad; that was Men in Black.

Maybe the Dwemer were aliens... and they decided there was no hope for humanity, so they just left us to rot in our own filth.

That's messed up.  Elves spawning dwarves is just......sick

This thread was made for me. I hate dwarves. I used to do the Orc tutorial in Warhammer Online whenever I was stressed out just so I could kick the dwarves in barrels off the side of a cliff.

Naturally, one of the reasons I love the Elder Scrolls IP is that dwarves no longer exist! :)

I would be offended but having to play an Orc to do that is punishment enough.

No Dwarves and no THAC0 either.

    The horror.

To sum up what happened to the Dwemer (Dwarves) in official lore terms:  The secular Dwemer waged war against the Chimer Great Houses, as well as the nomadic Ashlanders of Vvardenfell, who had united under General Indoril Nerevar. In the aftermath of the final clash, the Battle of Red Mountain, the Dwemer had mysteriously disappeared, Nerevar was dead, House Dagoth was assimilated into the other Houses, and a new religion was born revering the living gods of the Tribunal and later cursing Voryn Dagoth, the High Councilor of the defunct House Dagoth.

You'll enjoy the Fighters guild quest line. It covers the Dwemer quite a bit.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
