I did a early access for three days after I bought the game from gamestop, are you telling me I got to go to gamestop and redo it again? That doesnt make much sense, I already have an account this is such weird bs.

Nope, you need the game registration code.

2 codes because someone can actually preorder, get the early access code, yet not complete the sale to get the box.

Esentially, if you preorder and play sooner, yet never bother to pick up the box and pay, your service stops. at launch day, which was extended to today.  That's why there are 2 codes.  In any game, the 2nd one, the master key for the discs is the one that really counts.

Not wanting to start a flame war here, but some of us are affected by this policy in a different manner.  Specifically, I pre-ordered through Amazon (the CE edition).  Amazon, and to be clear I am not blaming Zenimax, has gooned up the shipping and I am not supposed to receive the game until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Because of this mix-up, I am not able to get into the game because I do not have the purchase code for the actual game.  This is not a singular instance, but rather is happening to a large portion of people that purchased the physical edition of the game via Amazon.

It seems to me, that an easy resolution to this problem could have been to simply extend the grace period for early access to all those negatively affected by the shipping issues (i.e., folks that pre-ordered the game but have still not received the box).

I enjoy the game, and still plan to support it, but I would be lying if I said that this was not a disappointment.

A good /facepalm emote is sorely needed on these forums.

    ..

People could buy a $5 card from a retailer and be in head-start without purchasing the game on the 4th (not to mention the horrible act of pre-ordering online with the intention to cancel before you pay).  You must enter the key that you can only possess if you actually paid for the game.

I certainly feel for you, that sucks.  I'll always do this through a local retailer if possible (unless Gamestop is the only option).  I went to Best Buy and picked up my CE Box on the morning of the 4th as scheduled.  I don't like the idea of relying on a website to get the game to me in time.

Online I only do digital purchases for games ~ and that's only when a physical box doesn't exist.  I'm old, that's my excuse.. I enjoy receiving something tangible when given a choice.  Sure, I have a nice collection of CE Boxes and goodies.. But I don't see anything wrong with that.  I don't have a problem.. *twitch*

Except then their account would be flagged as non subscribed if the payment did not go through. They get early access because they pre-ordered the game, everything should be a done deal with full access, then simply lock them out if not paid.

It is no different than not paying your next month sub fee on time, they simply lock you out.Their should not be added codes that just makes for a messy operation, they simply turn on accounts that are paid and turn off those that are not,SIMPLE.

It still could be Zenimax's issue.  I remember when SWTOR released, Amazon stated that they could not deliver all box's in time for everyone to smoothly transition from early-release to live.  There was a humungous uproar that could be heard even on remote islands, and the problem was fixed.  Overtime to get everything out, Expedited shipments, whatever, make it happen.  Games shipped were delivered on launch day.

Zenimax has a huge launch too, but I'm surprised they didn't pull out all the big efforts to make things happen.

SWTOR is the closesnt big release recently, so sorry if the scifi reference doesn't do your cause justice.  Very similar games, IMO.

We are basically screwed until we receive the physical box.  That's all there is to it.  I've been in many early accesses for launches and never had to deal with this because my 30 days started before I subscribed.  The purchase of the game itself gave me that 30 day access, and then I decided to extend my time.  Now I have to sit here and hope that my physical box makes it here tomorrow.  Never mind that all digital editions had their codes automatically applied, or that I paid $113 USD so that I can miss out on on almost a full day of early access due to a serious security bug, or that the geniuses over at ZOS decided that a SUNDAY would be the end of an early access, knowing full well that mail does not get delivered on a SUNDAY.  It really doesn't matter though, it is what it is.  Greedy investors trying another trick to ensure that they make their money by forcing people to subscribe in order to get their 30 days.  And you know what, it will probably work, despite how pissed off everyone is that this is affecting.

Actually ZOS learned about this issue from the players who posted about it on their forums... apparently Amazon oversold but didn't even inform ZOS that they oversold their allotted amounts.  A ZOS forum moderator replied to the first thread we made for this and they seemed broadsided by the news and would look into it, but I doubt they could do anything because they only found out like 1-2 days before launch.  Way to communicate with your vendors Amazon!

This isn't an issue that is confined to Amazon.  I pre-ordered my IE through Gamestop and they shipped my copy on 4/3/14.  Very late in the day too.  It isn't here yet.

The root of the issue is ZOS forcing a subscription to access the 30 free days of access.  This is something other companies have not done in the past.  In the past, the purchase of the game itself gives you access to the free 30 days.  Only after those 30 days were you required to pay for access.  People trying to stick up for ZOS have no response to this, because it is unexplainable.

This is simply not true. There may be some games who have done that, but I've played nearly all the releases to come and go these last 6-8 years. Nearly all of them that were sub based, required me to set up a sub plan before I could proceed. It's standard practice. What's not standard practice is the authorization charge for the full sub amount. But the other? No. That's done nearly every time in my experience. :o

It´s the major reason I do not order games online anymore. Unless it´s digital.

Always crap With shipping. And with Amazon it´s nothing New really. They have been screwing up for god knows how long and With how many games now? I lost Count.

I picked up my IE at Gamestop Friday morning. I had reserved it for $25. So I paid the rest and was expecting the preorder code for the Explorers Pack on my receipt so when it wasn't I asked the girl to look into it. After a search on their database plus a call to another GS we just opened the box.

Inside were 3 codes: Imperial Edition, Explorers Pack, and ESO game code. The basic editions all had this info. listed on the front of the game case so it all worked out and the girl got to see the IE for herself which made her happy it seems that I was the only one at that location to order early enough to get it.

Early Access ended Sunday 8am for me but once I get the taxes done this week I need to redeem those three codes to continue my ESO adventure hopefully you'll get yours on time as well. Amazon is pretty good but the delivery service sometimes isn't. Good luck.
