Soo how does Co-op/MMO work?

I'm a bit confused. It's a "shared" world yes? Not a formal MMO.

If my husband and I are both on PS3 can we play together or is it more of a shared world in the sense of

""Oh you're in the same area as I am. Hi!!"" ??

Thanks!

I think you will be matched with some other players automatically, and seamlessly. They will just appear in game. However, they will control the number so you won't see a crowd.

No, it's not a real MMO, but that phrase means nothing on this site. If they can put it here to get posts and clicks and ad revenue, they will. And these days LoL is being called an MMO, so just fuck it, genre over.

No one says it is a formal MMO.

And if the game is fun, i really don't particularly care if it is a MMO or not. And from the description, at least i wouldn't get crowding and suffer every stranger, so it is a plus for me.

Most mmos in the last decade have launched with lots of servers, each server having multiple dungeon / raid / zone instances. And server mergers have usually followed.

The capability and price of modern hardware and software has made it possible - in simple terms - to have one really, really big server with lots and lots of dungeon / raid / zone instances.

The Elder Scrolls Online has launched with this basic idea. The jury is out on whether they have gotten the software right.

And how it will work in Destiny .... ? Success or failure in TESO doesn't mean Destiny will succeed or fail. I would be very surprised if you were not able to group with friends however. (Edit: Bungie have confirmed you will be able to.)

Attitude towards instances vary. They have certainly been over-used in some games - ruining immersion; exploited you might say to avoid spending money on hardware. Instances do answer some big questions however which people who played mmos pre-EQ:LDN will appreciate.
