Hi All,
I'm going to be buying ESO but I have a few questions before I take the plunge...
Firstly, with the Explorer's Pack reward for pre-ordering - It says it lets you play any of the 9 races in any alliance. Is this a big advantage?
How does it play on PC? Does anyone have yearnings for their Xbox 360 controller? I usually play MMO's on the pc but I'm thinking PS4 or XB1 for this one as Skyrim played so well on console.
Does anyone know if it will be possible to pre-order the digital Imperial Edition on PS4 or XB1? Consoles don't usually allow purchasing of games prior to release. (This means I will have to forego the Explorer Pack - hence my first question).
My only worry if I chose to play it on a console would be the world population might be a little low - as both machines are only recently out and could be lacking in player numbers.
Thanks for the help.

If you have a gaming mouse with extra buttons then playing on the PC is fine. A Naga or G700 works great. I've tried it with a controller using Xpadder and it just doesn't flow as well in my opinion. You can't aim, move and have access to all your skills at the same time (without having to stop doing at least one of those things to have full access to the others), whereas with a gaming mouse and keyboard it's easy. Not a big issue in PVE but in PVP.. that's the difference between a winner and a loser.
Don't worry about the preorder bonuses. Any race for any faction is nice but it won't affect how competitive your character is at endgame. All the race bonuses are minor or become redundant once you have maxed certain skill lines. Don't feel like you NEED the imperial edition either, the horse is nice to have at the start but it is definitely not required. You'll get a horse eventually anyway and there are plenty of way shrines all over the place that you can use to travel between at no cost when you visit the closest one. There is nothing special about the Imperial race. If you've got the money to burn, then go for it.. if not, don't feel forced to get it.
Console version might well be the most populated. It's well known that around 55% of all Oblivion and Skyrim sales were on Xbox 360. I think PC was around 17%. Depends whether or not they adopt the subscription with open arms, who knows...
Problem is.. the next gen console sales have not been amazing. The majority of console gamers don't even have one yet.
You can still buy this DLC:

Have not tried, but you can use your controller on PC.
You can normally Pre order games on Amazon or Gamestop and receive a redeeming key. But I do not know about this. You can upgrade st edition to imperial edition on pc though
Well, up to you to decide.
On pc you get better graphics, ability to switch between keyb+mouse, and console gamers are more "play the game and sell it", where PC players usually tend to play the same game longer.

No, however, this depends on what race you want to be and where you want to play. I'm a Wood Elf playing on the Daggerfall side so this is an 'advantage' to me as I was not limited to the three races for this side.

This is really a PC game. I was thinking it would be more console oriented and was considering playing on the PS4 but I just could not imagine this on a console.

Personally, if possible I would say buy this on a PC. You cannot cross-play and would be limited to the PS4/XB1 but I do not know how this game 'feels' on a console. I guess it would be like Skyrim and PVP would not be too great.

I'd assume that population would be low on either console. Hence my recommendation for a PC buy.
