That video was the perfect example of why I think a lot of people are selfish beyond even their own control.  Dude starts out by saying that he didn't have to be in that dungeon and then proceeds to let that kid grief him to the point of annoyance rather than simply leave, regroup, and start over.

If you ask me he deserved everything he got.  More power to the foolkillers.

This isn't about the quality of the loot at all. Players like normal human beings all love the chance at something. We look forward to rolling and winning even my 1000th attempt in my 3 month quest to get my Shiny Metallic Robe I still always had hope I might win this time or the next time the magi did not drop his pants (bloody pervert).

See when you go into a dungeon you are expecting to get something for that effort, alright fine even something a little better than what you are currently using but you do not expect to have to fight your group member and have to boot him and still not be able to wrest some control over looting inside a part of the game you have chosen to do.{ Shouldn't phasing be good for something ? } I cannot bear to watch another person who is not even helping me fight the mobs on the way to the loot to simply happily just drag mobs to us and then go loot every frigging chest while we are busy fighting for our lives. I suspect most other players are like me . We are not angry because we think the loot in the chest is super duper great epic loot but that by the action of a selfish and unscrupulous person we are being denied the chance at loot. Yes the chance is what we are being denied and that is enough to make a normal person angry.

I also totally understand the point about the dungeon not being owned by the leader or the group. There are however expectations that should you not be able to handle a dungeon on your own and you group and clear it with others that everyone share in the spoils. Does anyone seriously think this will make people happy to have this system when most MMO players expect the greed need paradigm to be at play even for chests and especially when the chest might yield better loot . Even the possibility is enough to send any normal dungeon group into a fit of rage when one person keeps looting the chests and no one else can see what that person might be looting. The points isn't about the poster of that video restarting with another group member in place of the the filthy thief but that the game should not allow another player to grief a group in this manner and they left impotent to resolve it because the kicking from group leaves said thief in dungeon and allows him to continue to grief them. Bad design any way I look at it.

Its not some kind of bug. Its the way Devs wanted to be in the first place. If someone think it sucks, then he must get use to it, because its not a bug but a designing decision by ZEN :)

And this is what I do not understand. At all. How can any person observe this and think this is fun? It's just beyond my comprehension how any person can ever think any of this is fun or right or a desirable way to organize dungeon systems. There is always a percentage of trolls, and a game system NEEDS mechanics to minimize their impact to ruin other people's fun.

Need/Greed rolls and kicking are BASIC mechanics. They aren't debatable. It's the first thing you assume: fairness.

As much as I enjoy ESO, I enjoy is as a single player game, because Elder Scrolls Online is probably THE most anti-social MMO I have EVER seen.

I didn't said i understand it, or it is fun, or a real social mmo. I just said HOW it is and that's not by some kind of bug, but due to Devs choices.

Yeah, it sucks when someone ruins your run like that. However, what you see as anti-social I see as social opportunity. It is REALLY easy to deal with these types of players in other games. It doesn't stop them, though. It's "Set it and forget it" functionality. This was is actually relying on social gameplay in order to police the game. I'm sure that, in no time, there will be a blacklist mod which will allow us to mark these players as "baddies" and they simply won't get groups. It's a question of whether or not the community will actually rise up and stop this type of behaviour.

If that's what is intended by the developers, they should probably have made tools for it in order to convey their intentions.  It looks like a glaring oversight.  If there were blacklist tools built into the game that warned you when you were about to join a party with a blacklisted individual or if a blacklisted individual was invited to your party, it would look intentional and offer viable system.  As it is now, do you think they expect you to memorize your own personal blacklist?

    Enjoy

The best loot comes from bosses according to all the 50's i know.  Perhaps they want to breed an old school MMO environment where you can be a dick if you want to and its up to the community to get black lists going and so on.  There are alot of games like this its generally a characteristic of sandbox style games where they want you to be able to do whatever you want, its not like there isn't a separate set of issues with roll based systems.

In a old school sandboxy environment, at least you could kill the guy or something.  In here hes just protected by the mechanics and abuses it.  A lil need/greed for chests would do the trick

Reported this already in the beta. But yeah, you know that people are going to be Dbags to eachother, that's a given, so the game shouldn't encourage it.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

So you telling me because of an asshole i have to leave my dungeon, regroup and start over from scratch? does this seem fair to you? if he gets kicked from the dungeon group he is supposed to be booted out. No questions asked. you can report someone if they kick you from the group at the end boss and you get booted out. But you cant report this as it is part of the game and such a broken feature. People can ninjaloot and then afk all the bosses even if you kick them.
