Mobile App Compatibility

Okay, I think I'm just jumping the gun on this here, but what mobile OS's will the app be compatible with? I'm currently using a Windows 8 phone (and will be for the next year and a half. Because contract.)

I'm hoping Android is supported because that's the only kind of phone I'll ever own, guess we'll see though.  If we could get an app across all three major operating systems then that would be fantastic.

I think I recall reading iOS and Android, but I'm not entirely sure where I read that. I'll have to scrounge for it again after classes unless someone else has a link.

Clearly iOS and Android, we will probably go for Unity framework.

Will there be a windows app as well?

Hey that's a good idea. I don't see why, especially with  unity, we don't merged the companion app with the web hub to create one single app experience.

That said, lot of the companion app reside on the concept of the mobility part. (IE: you moving and snapping picture of clues, etc...) So aside from a laptop, some part may note make sense on a desktop app.

Windows has a tablet now too!

No, i think everyone are right, we need to think of what we want to do with the companion app and the limitation to mobile device only.

First what could be  the tablet support as they are close to the mobile experience and what kind of support we can provide to a PC or a MAC and is it logical. I clearly imagine hub in unity rather than HTML, we could do much more.

PS: Hub are the key mission and progression giver. When you uncover a hub, you open up a sequence of mission with it's storyline.

Here is some nub used in the past:

A Unity-based hub sounds really interesting.

Will there be an app for Kindle Fire HD (Amazon).

They use the Android system but have a separate appstore. I miss out on a ton of apps due to that and would like to know if that is something you might take into consideration.

    Hi BadBurrito10:

Well, Good new is, unity support Kindle Fire, bad news is we don't have any experience with it. Will take  look, if the portability is simple, of course we will support it!

Thanks for the fast response. Really interested in this. What would this mobile app entail? Will it have special missions, decoders, just another place to finish missions from? Just wondering if there are any basic ideas for the app atm.

    Thanks for your time! :)

I plan to post mission mechanics an classes details this weekend. There is not much on the Mobile app, but at least you will see where it is in the overall plan. =) Keep and eye on the private forums.
