I am sorry, but your work called. They said that due to un foreseen problems, that they had to take the whole pay system down for un scheduled fix. There for you wont be able to get your pay check for 3 months. Also your car dealer called, and said that due to them not knowing what they are doing. They scheduled your car to be fixed according to your work schedule. So the only time you can bring it in is when you work. But its likely that the schedule will change randomly, so we really have no idea when you should bring your car in. Just bring it over and we will let you know, chances are though its the wrong time.
Lol i dont get any of you that say, that a game should have no schedule for when they take the server down. If the world worked that way, you would be in the problems i stated up there. Thankfully only Eso decides that following a set schedule is meaningless, and just does things randomly when ever they feel like it. Like this patch, like having the game come out early effectively making the 5 day early access down to around like 2 or 3 days with the down time. Like making the game come up when they say 7am what they meant was 6am.
I mean seriously everything i do is ran on a schedule, not just random things i decide to do when ever i feel like it, when it comes to business. I mean no other business i deal with works that way. I dont get a call from my dr who tells me to come at 6am, then hes like name what i really meant was 7am. ECT ECT ECT......
You guys who say that a schedule doesnt matter, and its ok that they just bring the server up and down, when ever with no advanced warning. Your very young and your parents never taught you how to be orderly. Or 2 you just have no sense of order, and life is chaos to you, so having things that should be orderly, be random and chaotic mean nothing to you, its just your normal life.
Originally posted by Horusra Besides the quest fixes where are the game breaking bugs they are fixing that this had to be done right now?
Well the one that guy said where he lost 6k needed to be fixed, and they didnt even fix it lol. If you ask me the company is being ran by bad managers , who have no order. Every time I have called them, they never know whats going on. I am pretty sure if you went to where this company is ran, you would see a very chaos driven mess, with papers and people running around not really knowing what is going on.
If you ask me none of those fixes they added needed to be done right now. Other then the one the guy mentioned about losing 6k to cod mail. I bet when he tells the gms, or customer service they will tell him. We are sorry but we have no idea whats going on, we will make sure we send it to a department that knows whats going on. Then 4 days later hes gonna get banned, because they will tell him, he was sending those items to gold spammers, and was trying to buy gold lol.

I think this guy might be trolling. The first paragraph gave me a fit of the giggles that took several minutes to recover from!

Welcome to the internet, where youare either a hater or a fanboy. Just learn to ignore the extreme cases of both sides, everyone does this.

Not the best examples, if your work can't pay you for 3 months you have the right to sue them, you can't sue ZOS for maintenance times, they aren't even obligated to compensate or give early warning, they would only look like assholes if they acted that way. The car dealer issue is far too abstract for comparison, what kind of car dealer doesn't have a car storage area?
We posted this in another thread, but it bears repeating:
The patch we're pushing out right now was planned for tomorrow, but it was ready today and will fix some of the issues people have been running into while playing. We understand that the time is not ideal for some, but we felt it was critical to get the fixes out now before it gets much later in Europe."
3PM isn't prime-time, 7PM is prime time. If you feel like you need to complain, by all means, find a way to give feedback to the company, but comparing real-life appointments with a game that needs maintenance is beyond silly, day-to-day schedules are way more simple and straightforward than scheduling maintenance on a server that could create game-breaking bugs at any moment.
Originally posted by jusomdude Hopefully they are fixing the cod exploit, just lost 6k worth of items to it.
I sent something COD but got no return mail with gold. I waited for about 5 minutes because I assumed the player needed to open the mail and accept the COD charge. When nothing happened, I logged out and back in and the mail appeared. I was able to collect the gold form the mail. The bug may be a delay in you getting your gold, but it might not be gone for good. If you reclogged and still received no mail, then submit a support ticket. Hopefully things like sending in-game mail are easy for Zenimax to track.

As for the original topic -- downtime: I was hoping to play more, got about an hour of play in before the server went down. But it is launch and just about every game I have played at launch has downtime like this. It's not convenient but unfortunately if you want to play an MMO at launch you have to live with these things -- or wait 2 to 4 weeks then purchase. Launches will continue like this until people stop pre-ordering games... which will be no time soon.
I'm in the US -- I feel worse for the people playing in Europe that were shut down during prime time.
I did read the patch notes and it looks like there are some needed bug fixes coming through. I just hope they don't break more than they fix.
I'm tired of arguing with people who don't 'get it' and feel the need to 'rage' on. Sure I know the same level of disappointment in not being able to play (I don't get to play in the evenings) but it's 3 hours. 3 whole hours to fix broken things. Learn to live and learn to deal with it.
I for one am parked right next to a busted quest with another not more than a minute away. Then I'll wayshrine to the last zone and hopefully finish a 3rd broken one which will get me my achievement of completing X number of quests in the zone.
I think they should reboot the server daily to unstick the quests that fail just because they get hammered too much.

Although now they want a code, because i guess my IP changed from when they took the servers down till now. Which they did not send to my email.
