Yes even that would be a form of social interaction. Some people might not like it bit that doesn't change the (here it is again) fact that it is social interaction.

Interacting with another person? Congratulations you just participated in (wait for it) social interaction. Can be tough to grasp I know but if you keep at it it may sink in.

And yes you're right, I did /facepalm when I read this thread.

All these years i have been playing MMOS it is first time i have read someone referring to this kind of behavior as 'social interaction'

i would say an action designed to grab the attention of other people is the very definition of social interaction. how do you think people communicated before spoken/written language was developed?

anyway, moral of the story is if you don't like what is happening go somewhere else or just ignore it. heck, if zenimax had a real set of balls they would have put in a flagging / karma system similar to UO's (pre tram) and people could deal with their own problems right then and there; i'd be content with that.

But we are not pre historic men now are we? we are educated and civilised human beings who understand this world a lot better than cave men.

And i could care less about people jumping half naked in game, i just wanted to show my disagreement with it being 'social interaction'.

you can disagree all you want, i won't stop you but it doesn't negate the fact that you are wrong.

I agree it certainly is a form of social interaction its the same as getting mugged or being flashed all of these actions are something you do not want to happen but they certainly are social interactions.

However it doesnt change the fact that its bad behavior just go to a Mall strip down and start jumping around.

Once the police comes to arrest you try telling them its just social behavior to add some flavor for the masses and let us know how that works out.

Pay 15$ a month - get labeled as mature player!

It reminds me of a funny encounter I had in the pvp lobby on gw2 recently.

Shout: Looking for 1 bunker rank 35+ for our team.

Someone answered: I'm 34 and playing bunker guardian.

Shout: Forget it, I said 35

Answer: I can't wait to get that last rank just so I change from being a noob to being epic in pvp..

There's a rather large difference between jumping around naked like an idiot in a video game and jumping around naked like an idiot in a mall. There's nothing wrong with doing it in a game, there's no laws against it. You may not like seeing it, but that's the beauty of an MMO... it's not just about you.

Oh i never said its wrong in a game but if something is defended by declaring it just social behavior it should be np to do the same thing in rl.

I don't understand the point of this thread beyond the OPs incomprehensible need to complain about another playing doing that something that really had no effect on him, his gameplay, his life..etc..etc. Was it really that freaking hard to just go about your merry way? I suppose it was since you ended up hear trying to garner sympathy for your "traumatic" experience.

Play the game, enjoy the game and stop letting harmless people "ruin" your "immersion/experience" otherwise you just look like more of a tool than the naked archer practicing his bunny hopping technique.

is there?log in to Darkfall for example and go running naked and do your *funny* stuff and write yourself notes what happens.

i call it justice,in your game most likely its called boss move or something.

or do that in mm for example anarchy online,go to ToTW naked running around and do your *fun* stuff and observate carefully what happens.

Just like people cry for a true sandbox MMO, then it comes out and they cry that there isn't anything for them to do...that's what a sandbox is, you make up your own stuff to do lol.

I guess people are just generally unhappy creatures.

Its a proven fact that majority of people do not know what they want. That's a fact. That's why large companies like Microsoft, Apple or Google do not take user feedback as much as the user would want them to. Sure if there is a community uproar for a feature being stripped then yes, they do listen, but otherwise they do what they think the majority of people will enjoy. And for the lack of alternative most people think that this is the best thing and it can't get any better

Thus a new smartphone each year boasts millions of sales, while the "old" one is perfectly fine. Oh well :)

The need to have the Latest and greatest is a symptom of our consumer culture and not so much that each new product is better than the last. See it was figured out in the early 20th century that if you target the emotional part of the brain you get a bigger response than targeting the logical part. Ad agencies picked up on this thanks to Freud's nephew and away we went into never being satisfied with what we have.

Not that this has anything to do with the silliness of this thread but at this point, why not throw in a little history lesson.

Things like these are ...a wee bit upsetting, sure I can add this dude to my ignore list and so on, but damage has already been done, It's sad really that we have to put up with other players in dungeons like this.

Also, the difficulty of the quests is simply destroyed by letting other players do your work..wich ofcourse triggers automatically if there is players around doing the same thing..

I know I can relog etc, but should we really be the players that has to adopt just because there are morons all over ?

Go pick up a single player game, it looks like that is what you want.  In MMORPGs, other players will effect you.

  • ohioastroohioastro Member UncommonPosts: 534

If you log out and in again you're very likely to find yourself in a different shard without that player.  I did this to deal with bugged quests in beta, and see no reason why it wouldn't work here either.

So, if this is a particular problem for you, there is an easy solution.

Yes, there actually is a pretty large difference. One is happening in the real world and is against the law, the other is happening in a video game and doesn't matter.

I can guarantee that this sort of thing has happened in every single MMO that has ever existed. If it's so upsetting to you I don't know what to tell you, grow a thicker skin?

I think you got the point,in your funny game you continue being funny,in my game you get funny sword in your skull.

    Yes ,the difference is huge,

  • If it makes the OP feel any better my brother and his friends used to do this at parties if things got boring.  Except they ran through it with flaming toilet paper clenched between their butt cheeks.

So when you think about it, it is not really immersion breaking since real people do it.  You are probably just too prudish.

Well I guess that might be the only reason I have seen to enter my B Day every time I log in to see anything related to this game.  Apparently it supposed to be an adult game so I don't see why it is upsetting.
