Archeage Alpha Has Begun!

So the Alpha has FINALLY begun! and along with it Trion have released a new cinematic trailer! meaning we are all one step closer to the betas and the release of Archeage, So who here is planning on playing Archeage and who has a key to the alpha and can share their experiences with us all? :)

    Alpha was actually already in progress for a long time .. this is the expanded alpha, going beyond just friends 'n family & inviting outsiders.

    Let me define "outsiders" in this sentence.

    The extended alpha began at the time NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) was lifted, meaning; posting in-game content of ArcheAge e.g. videos/streams, screenshots etc etc is now allowed.

    Invites will most likely be sent to those who are able to promote the game through media first, youtubers, streamers etc etc.. However every invite seems to carry 10 other invites with them, so unless you're friends with a youtuber or someone doing a review, your chances are going to be small getting into alpha this early. Im not saying it's impossible, not everyone have 10 friends to share the keys with, so if you search long enough you might just find one.

    You could also get an invite if you watch Trions live-streams, where they hand out invites randomly to their viewers.

    I'm too tired to find the source, but not everyone got the extra keys with their account. There was a post about this in the official forums, but I hardly never read it I don't remember where. Hard to say how many actually got the extra keys since they didn't say any number.

    Yeah, You're probably right, that many extra keys with every invite seems somewhat too good to be true. It's probably something like 10 extra if you represent a youtube channel or a website (since they're a team reviewing the game?) and just one invite if you're a regular fan of mmo's. I dont know, just a guess..

    Seems to me this game got no buzz or exposure even with streams and the alpha NDA drop.  Not a good sign for the game at this point in this highly competitive year.  Saw a stream, and for the engine they have the graphics look extremely dated.  Additionally, the game seems to be all over the place.  It isn't sandbox enough to satisfy the sandbox fans and doesn't seem to be themepark enough to satisfy the themepark fans.

    This might be the last shot for Trion, but I don't see it working out too well.

    Cry3 Engine, the graphics are amazing in the game.

    The physics are something that need to be experienced.  I'm not a huge graphics/physics type person I care more about game play, but in response to dated you really need to play and you will change your mind in a heartbeat.

    I have, it feels like a old school themepark MMO with old school combat mechanics with some elements of "sandbox" slapped on.

    I got an invitation. I am not a member of news, or a streamer or anything. I got 10 refferals i sent them they all got in none of the people i sent referrals to got any further 10 referrals to send out. I am just a normal mmorpg fan and i was just active on the community forums.
