If you are impressed by SOE and this announcement you have really low standards.  All it is is Dayz with a some crafting added. Good luck with that.  Go try playing Dayz for a couple weeks, you will be bored out of your mind.  H1Z1 will not be any better.   The pve in most games is more challenging than fighting zombies.  If they go with starting you with nothing, that will fall flat on it's face too.  We have already watched several games self destruct using a similar scheme.

I have to laugh at Smedley, he is so predictable it is pathetic.

Same can be said of SOE and Smedley detractors really... they judge the artist(s) not the art which is the first and biggest mistake anyone can ever make when deal with the arts (gaming is an art).

Maybe some people aren't old and bitter? Maybe some are even looking at this as their first MMO? Does that equate to low standards? If so then I beg you tell us more as you are the only one in a proper place to tell us what to like and what not to Mr. Sutler.

I still can't quite figure out why they just don't re-skin SWG.  Cheap fix and quick release which winds up as at least 1 more game on the SOE roster (after closing a boat-load of them).  SWG closed with more servers than most so-called MMOs of this day have and call themselves, successful  (thinking about TOR here).

As a former 8 year player of SWG, a zombie game just does not appeal to me, personally.  I really didn't care all that much when they added the zombie zone in SWG and never completed even half of the content in that zone.  Secret World and Defiance?  "Hey, we have 2  games of this type that fell flat on their face, why not design another?"

The F2P model is yet another complete turn-off as well.  I got tired of P2W in STO very quickly and doubt I'd ever go there, again.  I see the words,  Free-to-Play and In-game Store and the 1st impression that hits me is, "I'll stay with flightless-birds".  Still can't quite fathom a "sandbox" (where players are supposed to run an economy with the best items being crafted) and see a store that tears that down (and per the STO model, the only pixels that can sell has power attached) is even remotely going to work.

Quite a disappointment here for a statement of "SWG vets, you can come home now".
