Originally posted by sleepyguyftl I was actually able to go to E3 this year and as I am a player of the game finding out about this expansion was my top priority. Some tidbits: When is it due out? They are shooting for a Winter 05 release. Will the game still be around then? I asked them this point blank. They didn't seem to like the fact I asked it, but told me that there is no doubt the game will be around then. Judging from the reaction to the question and the tone of their voice when they answered, I beleive them.
Heya Raynes
Yeah from what you've said about it Raynes, I am very interested an excited, in this and outposts.
I have a question: Will you be able to place monsters in your areas? If you can, that would be sweet. You could set up so many different things. I doubt monsters would be able to be placed but either way this is amaizing.

I got the feeling that you can place monster (spawns). Maybe you can even plot their movement & migration route. I do not expect that initial release allows writing mob behaviour scripts (would be cool though). It would be funny to select behaviour from existing ones. I would create a Yobo death patrol!

There is no doubt that the game will be around for some time. When I spoke with Cohen-Corval, he told me about his long-term plans for Ryzom. The hiring of Jessica Mulligan away from Turbine should also be seen as a vote of confidence in the product. Mulligan is former AC and Themis and has a sold reputation for producing MMOs.
Frankly, I don't think I would've been so blunt, but I guess the question needed to be asked
At least he didn't ask them what took them so long to get their act together
I guess they got over their chapter 11 bumped. I really wish David would turn out some press release for it.
FYI: I was pretty impressed with Nevrax honesty when this happened and send out a press release and a few letters from David at the time. It shows integrity.

What you will be able to do is place spawn points an the game will take care of the rest. So if you wanted to have a pack of gingos in a certain place, you would stick a gingo spawn there. Or lets say you wanted to have a mini Kitin invasion, you would place a kitin boss spawn. The game would then pick the type of Kitin for you and create the invasion under the conditions you specify.
The plan is to give the players all of the options that the devs have to create instances. This includes mobs, landmarks, npcs, towns, missions, animal movements, everything.

I really didn't mean it in a rude or nasty way, just an honest way. I'm a supporter of the game and always have been. I just really wanted to hear from them that the game would be around. It's one thing to read an answer to a question on a board, but to get a reaction face to face tells much more. And the reaction I got along with the excitement the devs had concerning outposts gave me a huge boost to my confidence in the game.
