It is not just that there are different bots spamming in chat every 20 seconds, there is no easy way to report them. This game is in dire need of a right-click report gold seller option.
Really? So why do we allow game companys to reinvent the wheel (MMO) here? They could have done research on dunno... the past 20 years of gaming maybe? There is zero excuse to screw up like they do.
MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.
Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?
Never ever assume that these bugs and problems affect people as they might affect you . They better fix all these things pronto because AION became unplayable because of gold sellers and bots. I am keen on playing but not with all these issues looming. Giving it a few months.
Aion was notorious for bots and the economy was quickly ruined. With Korean grinders I think it's almost accepted that everybody is expected to bot. Gold farmers and 'normal' players botted relentlessly - it was difficult to find a pick up group or get a player to respond to you in chat.
ESO has more of a feeling of 'us-against-the-gold-farmers' which seem to be out in force. There is of course the group of players that enjoy power leveling using legitimate tactics and that's fine. Even so the power grinders will still need to go back and finish certain quests and areas to maximize their skill points. In theory this 'forces' players to actually play their characters within certain themepark parameters, but I think there are still too many exploitable weaknesses that need to be addressed.
For instance, gatherable items should not have a vendor value. Their value should be generated when players trade. Putting a vendor value on Jute, Iron, and other gatherable goods defeats the purpose of eliminating the Auction House since all one has to do is set your bots to gather, vendor items for gold and sell said gold. All gatherable items should have their gold value set to zero.
Gold drops from mobs is already low and for good reason. ZOS really needs to implement coding that prevents mob loot after a certain number of consecutive kills by the same players. Setting AFK botting sessions on the same boss shouldn't be a viable tactic.
Their own forums on the bank items/slots/gold/etc. Some people are saying they're going to be letting all their followers know not to play this game if they don't get all their gold/items back. I don't blame them, this would be the one thing to make me completely stop playing.
I love this game, but if Zenimax can't get their customer service in order, I hope it dies. Cause we don't need more companies like EA running around.
Do they even have actual GMs? I've become under impression that they have mailing and banning bots and some kind of "customer service" outsourced from a country no one has ever heard of.
I like ESO but reading official torums there are people who are waiting for a normal answer from a human being over a week already.

You know this brings up an excellent point. How are people going to justify $15/month if they don't see GM's in-game or they can't contact a human to resolve their problems? The lack of GM's or customer support could very well cause more people to not sub and open up the dreaded F2P possibilities.

"It is their first MMO!"

If Zenimax was serious about taking on the gold sellers they would have GM's online 24/7 in all three starter cities instant banning.
Hell today the gold sellers were worse than I've ever seen them.
I reported 74 today.
Actually filled my friggin ignore list today : P
