Ok, I just recently began crafting in mmo's, so i'm a little new.
You have white, green, blue, quality.
To make a green quality, you would need Honing Stones, Pitch, and Hemmings. Now to get these the only way I know is by deconstructing other green's.......But still you have only a SMALL chance to get say a Homming from deconstructing. You should also have five hemmings to make one piece of armor to have 100% chance. Now to make a full set of low level armor you would need to do this for about 6 peace's.
That's 5x6=30, along with a small chance you would even get a hemming during deconstructing.
I'm a level 10, I would like to craft level 12 stuff. I farmed the hell out of the public dungeons for several hours only to get a total of 6 hemmings. So this will get me only one peace of armor to craft out of all that work if I would like to make green quality.....After deconstructing all that stuff 6 hemmings total....one peace of green armor, this is hell for me and not fun !!!!
Am I missing something, is their an easer way to get Hemmings, Pitch and honing stones ?

Well as you level, you can put points into your craft which also includes a skill that lets you use fewer improvement mats for each type. There's also a skill that increases your chance to get improvement mats from deconstruction. So that helps a lot.
Also, it's kind of paced out so that you can't just make purples and golds by the time you're level 25. Save your mats, wear quest items and drops is my advice. You'll outlevel lowbie greens quickly enough.
Like most MMO's, crafting is pretty useless for the leveling process. You will generally find equal or better gear "in the wild." What this means is that 99% of the stuff you craft is done only to level your crafting up, and break down the stuff you made to reuse some pieces. It's a grind, so don't stress about not being able to make greens and up while leveling.
You make me like charity
I was finding all kinds of stuff. Just look out for chests, since they are basically a free green+ item. You won't usually find them in well-trafficked areas, but they are common everywhere else.
You make me like charity
Like OP mentioned I also run into plenty of different type of armors, thing is so far finding more heavy armor with my light armor sorcerer.
I know the great thing about ESO is that I can make my sorcerer wear heavy armor. But I don't want to. I take my "role" seriously. Got me Dread Knight with heavy armor as my Templar, My sorcerer in light armor and me Night Blade with medium armor. Call me traditional, but at the same time it offers me a meta-challenge.
As for OP's question, like you my highest level is level 10, personaly I can never really say much about crafting at the stage of only having a level 10 toon other then enjoying it and looking forward to what's to come. These are just the beginning stages and while it already gives room for experimenting it's still far to early to really make a difference with crafts. Though I still am making a difference as long I mix my crafts with rune's/enhancements.
As for being level 10 you should be able to craft level 12 stuff already.
You do know you can + resources to up the level of the crafted item?
It's one thing to farm ruin scraps but deconstructing EVERYTHING for just a chance of getting hemmings sucks, so you have to farm for armor pieces too.
With all the work I put in I can make only one piece of armor for level 12 ..... To make things worst, i'll be level 16 in no time. I'll have to hope like someone posted that putting more points into crafting later on will yield a better chance of getting better stuff from deconstructing.
I would also have more gold if I just vendered all my pieces that I deconstructed.
My last question.....Do people really like to do this stuff ? for me its torment.
Well
1, if you hate it don't do it.
Join a merchant guild to buy others' crafted goods or buy them from your guild mates.
2, I think you are obsessing a bit over something that you can just approach in a relaxed way.
I hate crafting. despise it. Always hated it. Partly because mostly you are just collecting bits to make more bits to essentially make a copy of gear that everyone else has.
However, I don't mind ESO crafting. Mine's not high (only about level 12) but I do it when I get a chance. I've been crafting my gear since lower level. and "no" I didn't care about greens or anything like that. I just do white. It's good enough. Here and there I will get a green or blue as a drop and will use it to upgrade a piece but otherwise I don't sweat it.
So far my gear "craft to drop" ration has been ok.
I figure as long as I can make white gear that is "a little better" than old gear then I'm good. We'll see what happens the higher I go.
At the moment I do crafting as a little side thing before I log off. Slowly but surely it gets up there.
Obviously there are people who are going to be crazy over it and they are the people who invest a lot of time and effort.
that's why I say join a guild or merchant guild and buy when you can. Take advantage of gear that your guild mates create. if you are in a good guild they may even throw a piece your way for very little cost.

Thanks, I may take your approach. Either that or quit my day job and be a stay at home crafter.
