It's an interesting read, I also like the part about folks roleplaying Dawnguard and killing off vamps/furries forcing what they call an underground economy. It's interesting how different something can sound coming from a different mindset on it.What sounded like a problem in one scenario, sounds like players shaping the world like we used to in games like SWG.
another interesting thing of relation came in the form of a comment on that articles discussion thread.
Last night a bunch of us low level AD players were fighting it out with some DC guys when a pack of like 20 werewolves (some transformed) ran into us.
Someone called out "KILL THOSE UNHOLY BEASTS" and almost everyone stopped their fighting and laid into the poor werewolves and we slaughtered them.
Then we all ran over to a farms bonfire and sat around it playing music and exchanging battle tales.
It was fantastic lol if you're into any sort of RP.
This is the type of stuff I miss seeing in MMO's, players feeling free enough to make their own content, it's rare to come across this in today's themeparks. I hope this is how a good part of the community approaches this game. This is what creates longevity.

It's during those events that you can clearly see ESO is a themepark;
In Eve, 2 weeks ago, a "pyramid scheme" has been discovered. A group of player scammed more than 1 trillion ISK (a lot of money), and after 8 months, decided just to send a message saying they would never see their ISK again. When a journalist asked a game developper what would they do about that, they said that it would totally against the philosophy of the game to interevene in this event, that what happen was completly inside the rules of the game.
Sandboxes are all about frustrations; you can lose everything one day, but you can win everything in one day too.
In a themepark, when players are frustrated, they directly go full "Omg, omg, quick, /report /report /report /report"
I see what you're saying, I mostly agree. I was frankly surprised to see players taking any kind of initiative in this direction in a themepark. I'm not surprised at all that some had a problem with it, and didn't seem to see the good in it at all. I hope more wake up and see this what MMO's used to be about.
